Well, we've got to go down to the school to clean up after a basketball tournament. The eighth grade is doing the concessions as a fund raiser for the eighth grade trip. Yeah, like I'm real motivated to do anything for the eighth grade at this point. But since I'm the class treasurer I've got to be there every night for the money plus tonight we're cleaning the gym.

See you later!

Do you remember me telling you that Andrew has been having a terrible time being picked on and bullyed??? Well, he ended up hitting someone so I assume he'll get punished tomorrow, either in-school or our-of-school suspension. Someone grabbed him and put his arm around him. The other boy said, after the fact, that he was just "hugging" him. Yeah, right. But Andrew had hit his limit. He's all worried now about the punishment but we told him not to worry.

well if Andrew gets punished, I hope the hugger gets punished too!!!

I have had students that put up with it and then deck em too,

talk to him about it and no matter what the punishment is, he'll understand what is happening.

DH and I have told Andrew that if he feels he needs to defend himself then to go ahead and we'll deal with consequences later. That's what he did today. So he can deal with consequences, if any, tomorrow.

Thats a good plan, defend yourself if necessary, and we'll sort it out later.

I talked with the wife of one of the school board members about a week and a half ago. Their daughter is a teacher at the boys' school. She said to call her husband if anything else came up, which I may do tomorrow depending on if anything happens. From there, I'll go to the superintendent.

Here's another little note about school...Andrew got his name on the "Principal's 100 list" today. It's a board at school that the kids get their names put on when they do something "exceptional." This is the third time this grading period (9 weeks) that he's gotten his name up there. So that pretty much says he's a pretty good kid. He got his name up there today because yesterday on the way home from school the chains slipped off the bus. Our neighbor was behind the bus and behind him was the father of one of Andrew's friends. Both men came up to the bus to help. The bus driver let Andrew and his friend off the bus to help. When Andrew got home he was soaked to the skin from laying on the road...in the snow...under the bus, to help put chains on. WHAT KIND OF SCHOOL ALLOWS A STUDENT TO BE IN THAT TYPE OF DANGEROUS SITUATION! It was a blinding snow. The bus driver did say that she made sure that Andrew and his friend stayed on the passenger side of the bus so they weren't near oncoming traffic. DH about had a fit but I didn't want to cause any problems because the bus driver is a friend and has a daughter in Andrew's class. I did talk to her about it last night and she said that in hindsight she realized it wasn't the smartest move.

You have raised such a good boy. Don't worry about the punishment if there is any, and its a shame the school can't do or doesn't do anything about the bullying.

Well, I have been so busy. The DK's are on spring break and the end of last week was daughter's state gymnastics. There were so many in her age group they divided up into 3 groups. The girl she was always neck and neck with from our town was in another group!! we were thinking we would be doing good since we were usually trading placing. But a girl from our state that had never competted with us was in my daughters group. The girl from our town got first in her group. The sneaking in one got first in my daughters. She got a 39.1 which is awesome but my DD got 2nd in state( nothing to shake a stick at) with a 38.45 all around. Just wish that other one would have been in one of the other 2 groups. But my dd did get 1st :cheer2: on bars at state. She got a 9.75. She got a 9.9 on vault but was 5th place. She got a 9.25 on beam and got 2nd place and on floor she got a 9.55 with 3rd place. Her coaches said she would probably go level 5 next year so we will be at a learning year. Last year was her first year to compete and her first meet was a 28 all around MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. I know God has helped her but we also found out that she was ADD and that info has turned aroundeverything she does including school. The DK's will still be home the rest of the week so will not be on much the rest of the week. Hope everyone is doing good, haven't had time to read back . :grouphug: big hug to everyone.
