Really What the heck happened?

well I am just back from school! Brandon had a rought start to his day :(

He has to ride a bus to school so what I did was get him on the bus and then followed the bus to school. I had to park in the lot and then Grif and I ran to the front to try to meet him. Well I couldn't see anyone there. So I go in and he's not in the lobby, so I walk down to his room... NOT THERE!! His teacher and I go looking for him and we found him all hunkered in a corner by the cafeteria crying!! He just shut down and wouldn't talk to us at all. He was crying, I was crying. It was a big mess.

I noticed that he didn't have his backpack so I asked if he left it on the bus and he said that someone took it! Poor guy!! Well it seems that it dropped to the floor and some girl picked it up. We think that she was just trying to help, but in his mind she was taking it. It's still not found, but a bus reported that a backpack was left on it, so we're hoping that it's his. They said that it will be brought to the school after lunch. Thank goodness his lunch wasn't in it. I don't care about the bag, but it just breaks my heart that he had such a bad experience on his first day.

The principal, guidance counselor, his teacher, another classmate and I tried to get him to open up, but he just curled himself up in a corner, covered his head up and wouldn't talk or anything. It was breaking my heart. After about 20 minutes I thought I got through to him and he was almost walking in the class door, when he started walking backwards and then out the front door!! The principal and I kept saying Brandon don't go outside, etc, but he just kept going. He stormed off down the sidewalk. I was both mortified and upset. I didn't yell or anything, but I tried to explain to him how wrong that was. How dangerous it was. How scared I was.

Well I finally got through to him and got him in the classroom. The teacher was kind to him. She had explained to the other students how he was feeling and they were sooooo sweet to him! He instantly got surrounded by a group of girls who were hugging him, rubbing his back, etc. They were practically fighting over who got to sit by him on the floor.

I sat in his classroom for about 25 minutes. He seems like he is doing better. Before I left I asked him if it was ok and he said yes.

I am nervous about his bus ride home. The good news is that one little girl who was attaching herself to him is on that bus also! So I know she will make sure that he is on it.

Well now I am just going to sit at home with Grif and hope that the phone does not ring!! I am hopeful that the day is only going to get better and he'll come home with tons of good stuff to tell me about!

It was a really long time ago, me and a friend at the time decided we were gonna ride our bikes to her grandmas house on halloween night and do a little trick or treating then pass out candy at her grandmas. Well we were almost there and I hear this car coming down the street, she and her brother had just crossed the street in front of me and I was crossing it when i noticed the car. It was coming way to fast for me to stop, and when they tried to take the corner they hit me. I think I blacked out for a second I really don't remember. but i was just happy it hit me and not them. I've always been a chunky monkey and they were both really skinny so if it had hit one of them they would have been really seriously hurt. I got hurt, it broke my wrist, and my elbow was crushed. I had to have reconstuctive surg. on my elbow and it still has a pin in it that the Dr says can't come out, but if it had hit one of them I know it would have been much worse.

He is in a different school than the other two due to "overflow". Their 1st grade classes are already too full.

Update: I went to Brandon's school to check out how things were going. I went during recess and he was playing with the other kids!! :cool1: :cool1: They were all having a good time from what I could tell.

There was this one little girl who played with him the whole time. Then there was this boy who you could tell wanted to play with him, but not with the girls. He kept going and sitting on a bench until Bran came over and talked to him. Then the two boys would go to play together until the girls came over which is when the other boy would go off to the bench again. This happened about three times while I was there.

I can't wait to hear his report this afternoon!!

 oh Tracy!!!

I too had a bike encounter..

I was 12 and was spending the summer with my father who lived in Brooklyn (I lived in TX with mother and step-father). It was the first time meeting his new wife and her two older daughters. They borrowed a bicycle for me from a neighbor so that I could ride to my grandma's house. She lived sooo far away that I now wonder why I was going to be allowed to ride. Anyway..... It was a man's bike and I am very, very, very short... I get on the thing and within 30 seconds fall... straight down on the bar. OUCH!!! It hurt sooo bad!!! No one was outside with me so I just put the bike down and went inside. I was in pain for about two days until one of girls heard me in the bathroom kinda crying. I was doing my pp business and it burned and burned and burned. I was mortified to say anything to my father (who I only saw during the summer) or these new ladies in the house. Well, the one daughter did tell them that I got hurt and probably needed to go to the drs. They took me to the ER and I had to get stitches you know where. Yes, there.

I was mortified. mortified. And it didn't help that the ER doc was a hunk!! I was sent home back to TX as soon as I was healed enough to walk. I didn't ride a bike for a long time after that (and I lived for my bicycle). But I have finally gotten back on but I am always a little anxious still.
