I just talked to Nana. Grandpa is going downhill fast.

I had offered to go up this weekend and she said no, to not plan on it right now. She feels we'll either be up there by this weekend for the funeral or if I went up I would no sooner get home and have to turn around and go back. It's so hard, but he has gotten to the point that he is suffering and all we can do is pray God takes him soon and he doesn't suffer much more.

Everyone thinks I am crazy for feeling this way.

I don't think you are crazy...I feel bad about leaving mine for a few hours to go out for dinner...even though I know they will be having fun. Lately, they have wanted to sleep over my DSIL's home with their cousins, so I have let them a few times...we leave their house around 9 and pick them up at 7...so they really are only playing and sleeping..and, we live about 2 minutes from her...it is hard for me, but the kids have fun and they miss us a little. I think that it will be nice for DH and DD to have daddy-daughter time and they will both appreciate you more when you come home. and, when your heart aches, tell yourself that over and over and over again
