The room Mom just called and was like so do you think you will be able to do clinic duty. I was like I will have to check and see if my WORK schedule can be done that way.

Come on you can't find 4 Mom's that DON'T work to fill in. I know for a fact that there is more than that, that DON'T work.

It drives my mom crazy! they know she works nights and sleeps during the day, but they still call her all the time. At least now if they need help I can go do it, but they don't call much anymore

Each class has to cover the clinic so many days a year. We have 3 days and two shifts each day to cover. And I already know two Mom's have said they will do it.

I know a couple of the other Mom's that DON'T help out at all. i work in the classroom EVERY SINGLE FRIDAY AFTERNOON. Why does it always have to be the same ones that do EVERYTHING!!!!

AND I WORK!!!!!!!!!!

Plus I took the early morning shift for clinic duty last time because I figured no body would be getting sick and low and behold here comes a little boy telling me he is going to throw up. :scared: :crazy2:

Look I don't do so well with throw up when it is somebody else doing it. DD I can handle but no way. And all I kept thinking is I will die if I have to clean this up. :faint:

It was yummy :thumbsup2 I don't understand...why do you have "clinic duty"...isn't there a school nurse or office staff to handle the sick kids...It seems like a lot of liability to have parents acting in this role instead of school employees? :confused3

That's what i was thinking too! they won't even let the parents near the nurses office unless they have a kid in there at andie's school :confused3

We only have a School Nurse one day a week. The rest of the time it is handled by the Parents or School Staff. Basically the parent is there for the little stuff. Throwing up, accident in their clothes, little scrapes and calling the Parents to come and get their kid. Big stuff goes to the office staff.

Her school is almost what I would call PARENT run. It is different than normal Public school. I guess the best way to decide it would be Public school on a Private school level. They figure all the extras they get from the Parents doesn't cut into their budget.

Sounds like extortion (sp?). My neices go to a private school and they were given fundraiser tickets to sell. My sister bought a bunch and returned some (she has 2 kids that brought them home)...the school returned the tickets to her and told her is was a "mandatory" fundraiser  Hello, why don't they just raise the tuition instead is it is a forced sell :confused3
