relax...darn cleaning never ends...feels like just the other day I did 5 loads of laundary...oh wait, that is because I DID JUST DO 5 loads the other dayeeyoresmountainpals said:I really should be cleaning too. I cleaned all day yesterday, though, and started cleaning first thing this morning. But then we went to Walmart and I just felt like relaxing when we got home.

when we were at the butterfly farm, I think one of the ladies thought I was nuts for always getting on my kids to not touch everything and to keep away from their wild looking dog
I don't think she really understood since she doesn't have kids...If I left me eye off of them for a minute, DS would have been over their wall RIGHT NEAR THE ROAD, DD would have antogonized the wild dog, they both could have damaged the butterflies/cacoons, etc.

That what DH always says...to stay strong and keep it up..now is the time to work with them, later it will be too late.....must be strong, must be strong.....eeyoresmountainpals said:You sound just like me. I always stay on the kids like that 'cause I know what they're capable of!It's funny, though, 'cause now that the kids are older everyone is always telling us how well behaved they are. Maybe it's 'cause we always stayed on them when they were younger.

Yesterday DH said he wanted to talk about our summer vacation plans. We've been planning a trip to Niagra Falls and up the east coast. Well a few weeks ago he said he really wasn't looking forward to that trip so I just kinda let it drop.
Yesterday he said maybe we should go ahead and get Dollywood/Splash Country season tickets again. We've gotten them every year for the past four years but this past summer we didn't use them all that much so I said I didn't want to get them this year. I reminded him of that and then he said, well, maybe a few days at Disney then! WOW! So it's at least out there as a possibility!

This friend has always told us that we're too hard on our kids and that she feels sorry for them. Well, I'm proud to say that when our kids go out with us we often get compliments on the behavior now. She has actually had friends say that she is welcome to come back but to leave her kids at home. (The was back when they were about 11 or 12). Can you imagine having someone say that to you! I would be so embarrassed. Plus she's had the police call to tell her that her DS was in the hospital from alcohol poisoning from drinking too much at a concert, DD totally disrespects both her parents and will cuss them out in a heartbeat. So, DH and I just continue doing what we do and what we feel is best!

I know we've gone in the summer when we lived in FL but that was a long time ago. Plus, I don't think we ever stayed overnight during the summer months.
