At first I was thinking that for safety sake, you should take the truck....but 7-8 hours is a looooongggg time for a family of six to be together....the van is looking better :rotfl: It seems like every weekend someone is driving somewhere :rotfl:

Actually the truck only seats 5. DD will have her own car. But the truck just isn't nearly as roomy or comfy. I think we've decided on the van.

How is her ankle doing? & how is grandpa doing?

It wasn't my DD's ankle...it's my friend's DD's ankle. And she's about to drive my friend nuts. Yes, it hurts, but she is being such a baby and expecting to be waited on hand and foot!

Grandpa is doing as well as can be expected. He's getting daily chemo and daily radiation.

It may have been Kelly or Kliz's DH. That's gonna drive me nuts 'cause I know someone had been talking about it.

not mine :confused3

I know Kelly's DH did the scuba diving thing this time.

that does seem like a hard trip to make.....but it will be worth it. Last November we took the kids to visit my Grandmother. We went just for the weekend to another island, which wasn't easy, but it was so worth it to see her and have her see the kids. I will never forget how she cried when she saw us. She had a stroke fourteen years earlier and wasn't able to speak much. In a couple weeks it is her one year anniversary, :guilty: I am so glad we went when we did.

:wizard: PD for a safe trip.

Thanks for the PD :wizard:

Yes, it will be a hard trip but I'm sure it will be worth it. We want the kids to be able to see Grandpa before he gets any worse so that hopefully that'll be the way they remember him. I may go later to help out but this will probably be the last time for the kids. Then again, who knows, miracles do happen and doctors have been wrong before.

have you thought of getting a parttime job? something you would enjoy...or at a place you like to shop?

My sister applied at either Gap or Banana Republic last year during the summer (she is a teacher and wanted to take a break from teaching over the summer) so that she would have a parttime job while the kids were in classes/activities and for the money and for the employee discount :rotfl: I always thought that after I retire from the job I am at, if I still enjoy baking I would like to work in a bakery or supermarket....go in really early, bake and leave early in the day :cloud9:

I thought about it, but I'm gonna wait and see if I can start classes in Jan. If not, then I'll start looking for a part time job
