How much property do you have?
we have a couple pieces adjoining that is around 14 acres (and then DH's family has the land around us)...we live on the dry side of the island so most the land in our area is either farmed or fallow farm land and then the drainageways are wild...which is why we get deer. During some years, especially when it is really dry, they come up to eat the produce. They can hide/live in the drainageways. I will look if there is a picture, I think DH took one of a sunset for Kim.

here's our area with a rainbow:

boy... and we think we're blessed to have almost an acre total.
you are!!!!! sometimes, mostly when we were first married, I wished we lived in a subdivision on 10,000 sf. There is so much to maintain and sometimes it is isolating.....but, now I am happy where I am....I just miss my male dog, he was really great at letting us know when someone was around. Hopefully we will have puppies soon :cool1:

Lyn - I had problems with the pics just like last night but I did it like Tracy told me to and it worked fine. What a beautiful view you have.

If we ever built up on our property we would have a beautiful view but where the house is situated now out the back we see our neighbor's house (and we don't get along with the neighbor so it's not a house we want to see) and out of the front we see the road and then our other property. Our house sits real close to the road. From the family room side of our house we have a beautiful view of the mountains but with the way the room is designed you really have to look. And out of the kitchen side of the house we have a deck and a pretty nice view of woods.

You are blessed. Some people can't even enjoy an acre. I know where we used to live in FL the houses were so close together.

I've never really had any interest to travel to Hawaii....until I saw your pics. It really is beautiful! Maybe someday....

That is how it is here now. Many of the new subdivision lots are 3,000-6,000 sf and sometimes 7,500 or 10,000 sf and very insanly expensive. I am so glad DH and I took a chance and did the house thing when we were first married years ago, when the economy was bad and prices were down. I still have a horrible mortgage, but now it is what other people pay for rent and so much less than the going rate on houses now....yikes, I would hate to be starting out :earseek:

One of my best - real life - friends lives in Denver....the mountains are sooooo beautiful, especially when there is snow. We love this restuarant there and if you eat outside there is a great view of the mountains...looks like heaven
