Solo flight question/advice please...
Since I am traveling alone to Japan, I am wondering what the best way is to care for my personal items in my seat when I need to use the restroom. (My concern being possible theft while I am gone.)
Anyone have any good tips for me? It's not something I've ever had to think about before!
My fanny pack with the above items is always with me. Other than that, I leave everything at my seat when I get up. Today I took the Eurostar from Paris —> London and left my iPad open at my seat while I used the facilities. On our most recent flights last month (JFK>SIN, HND>SFO), no one even appears to notice or budge when someone gets up. I saw plenty of solo travelers just leave their things, without a care in the world. Interestingly, however, JAL did make an announcement about theft of personal belongings, so it does happen of course.
If it were me, I typically take a fanny pack in addition to a backpack on every trip. In my fanny pack, I always keep my most important items: wallet/cash, passport, phone, air pods. Even when I'm traveling with my DH, I typically will wear my fanny pack to the bathroom in the airport, etc. So that's what I'd do, if it were me.
I’m at the Hyatt Regency Churchill currently. Thanks to a very generous member, dd and I were gifted GoH and were upgraded to a Regency Suite. It’s lovely and spacious with a walk-in closet (full review when I get home next week). Room wasn’t ready when dd arrived, so she had a shower in the executive lounge, which was a nice treat to have available. Love the location a short walk from the Bond St station (a stop on the Lizzie line). I took the tube here from St Pancras King’s Cross; didn’t love the stairs between lines and stairs up from the Marble Arch station, but it was faster than taking a taxi so I dealt with it. Probably wouldn’t recommend the tube (from the international train station) for anyone with disabilities or anything more than a carry-on.
