It was good to live somewhere different...plus, I went in blind and didn't know what to expect. My first winter it was -20 and -60 with windchill :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: I will never forget walking in the bitter, bitter cold. But I loved the way falling snow looks....and once we had ice crystals on the trees, which was dangerous but beautiful and the leaves changing colors and that feeling everyone has on the first sunny day after not seeing the sun for months...good times

sounds like a typical winter here inthe great north east
maybe i should convince DH we should go to Hawaii to try something different :teeth:

I am biased, but I love Hawaii. Seasons are fun to visit and on trips down memory lane, but this is a great place to visit and live....snow 24/7 isn't for me, especially as I get older. Unfortunately, both living and visiting Hawaii are really expensive to do. Our housing market got out of control, but I know a lot of places on the mainland are the same way.

I don't know much about Hawaii so forgive my lack of knowledge but do you live on the Big Island ??

Kim did you see that kelli and Liz are trying to figure out whenyou are going to WDW they are trying to do a meet
Wish i was going this year :guilty:

My sister took a cruise around Hawaii and says she's going to move there one day-I wouldn't mind it either, but like you said it is costly to visit-you are just lucky enough to have your family there and live there-makes me jealous

Oahu is where Honolulu is and is basically the city. The Big Island and most of the outer islands are a much slower pace than Oahu. I am on Maui...which is right in between the fast city and slower pace. We have really nice hotels, places to eat, traffic signals :rotfl: , water activities, land activities, many scenic areas to view...(feel free to print this out for your DH)....Maui is a wonderful place to visit ;) . Our nickname is Maui no ka oi (Maui is the best).

I wish my countdown clock would slow down a bit-I'm sooooooo not ready yet-and if things keep breaking or needing all my extra $$$$ around here-I'll never get it all payed for in 48 days!!!!!!

Home is where the heart is...so yes, I am lucky our family is here. I don't know what I would do if DS and DD decided they wanted to live on the mainland...it would be so hard to leave here to live near them but it may be harder to not be near them...oh well, I will keep trying to brainwash them into living near me always :lovestruc

It will all come together

it always seems to me when i am getting ready to leave that something expensive happens to try and mess with my trip
Hopefully nothing else goes wrong for you between now and than

Oh and you can always do a few more of those shifts with the adults for
extra spending money right?? :rotfl2: ;)
