DS and I are thinking of doing a quick trip for his 21st birthday. I found cheap flights for Feb. 28- Mar. 3. Is there anything happening that would be happening on those dates that would make the parks really crowded? Or will it likely be a less crowded weekend at the parks?

Just wanted to pop in and say - I LOVE LAST MINUTE TRIPS!!!

I do too! But with FP+ it's becoming more important that a last minute trip isn't on a busy week/weekend!

From the easywdw calendar it looks like there is nothing special going on that week. I say go for it

I'm doing a last minute solo trip too!! feb 26-Mar 1....it seems like its a very low crowd week :yay:

I am doing a semi-last minute trip those same dates because it was pretty low crowd. We planned 30 days in advance. I didn't see any special events when we planned and MK is open until 3am on the 28th!

We are also doing a last minute trip Feb 26th to Mar 1st. I know the crowd calendar says it is a low crowd period, but then why is MK open until midnight on Fri, Feb 27th and 3am with EMH on Sat, Feb 28th if it will be low crowds? I'm very suspicious of those park hours. :scratchin

Well I may as well join in too. We are doing a last minute Feb 23 to Mar 1. Since its so close, is there any reason to order tickets now and try to do FP or just take chances on lines?

We are doing a day on March 1st before our cruise. Saturday the 28th will be the highest crowds - that is why MK is open so late (EMH until 3am!), but I think it was saying on average 5-6 level (maybe 7 for MK on that Saturday). I swear MK was suppose to be open until midnight on Sunday March 1st and Disney scaled it back to 11pm. Maybe that is a good sign for anticipated crowds?

EPCOT was a 4 all weekend on most of the calendars.

I am thinking about doing a day at IOA at Universal on Saturday after we get in. Anybody know anticipated crowd levels for there? I think I saw UT say IOA was not recommended on Feb 28...

I would buy tickets now because there are a lot of rumors of a ticket price increase. It will be easier to get fps even one day out then it would be on the day you are there.

According to the Disney website, park is open until 3am with EMH on 2/28. That's a change from the hours posted as recently as last week, I believe. Thanks for the heads-up.

I'll be there during that time and have no idea why the hours with EMH were extended until 3am. All indications based on crowd calendars were for lower to moderate crowd levels starting next week through approximately 3/6.

I think MK is expected to be heavy that Saturday... I think I saw an 7 or 8 somewhere. Maybe they shifted crew from Sunday to Saturday?
