Last Minute Ressies

Has anybody been successful at getting "last minute" reservations at any of the DVC resorts? My husband and I are going to take a quick week-end trip (Sat and Sun) to Orlando in a November and would like to use our points. I have always booked 11 months out - so I don't know how good my chances will be for booking at less than 2 months out.

I guess I'll know in a couple of days when I call DVC (right now they are too busy handling changes for guests that have had their plans changed due to "Jeanne").

Just was trying to get an idea if I would have any chance at all. We don't care which DVC at WDW that we stay at, but were hoping to get a studio.

Wish me luck - and please share your stories if you have had a similar experience.

Normally that is a very busy time with DVC members and this is an even bigger exception this year as so many are cancelling and rebooking due to the storms. Good luck, you won't know till you try.

Last June, my DW and I decided to go on a trip in August. Took a little research and a few calls, but we got VWL for four nights, Fri thru Sun. Some of the resorts we tried first were booked, but VWL came through. As it turns out, we're glad it did because we loved it. Keep trying!

Yes, my DW and I have had luck on short notice ressies for VWL during the month's of Oct and Dec

we just booked 2 nights at OKW for Nov 13,14 without a problem. This ressie is for a studio. Cant wait since we just cancelled because of Jeanne.....

Since your open to any resort... and your going over a weekend... I think you have a good shot at getting it.

We just had to re-book because of Jeanne. We were due to leave last Sunday, on Saturday we changed to Monday, then the airport never opened so our flight was cancelled. No BCV.

Yesterday I called MS to see what we could do and when we could get down. The were no 2 bedrooms at BCV. We were able to get a 2 bedroom at OKW from 11/14 to 11/19.

I'm hoping the pool will be open. Vacation Magic said mid December, other sites say 8-10 weeks from September 6.

Hopfully, there won't be another storm.

Just wanted to post my results. I called DVC this morning around 10am. I had to wait awhile on hold (about 5 minutes) which I didn't think was bad - I was happy that I didn't get a busy signal. I explained that we were looking for a studio and didn't really care which one, but that I did have a list of resorts in the preferred order. I gave her my dates of Nov. 20 and 21 and the first resort on my list (Saratoga Springs because it is new and we have never been there) and ------ they had a studio available.

I am thrilled that we will be able to check out this new resort for our short stay.

Thanks for all of the encouragement! I'll let you know how we like the resort when we return.
