DH just said to me, "I want to go to Florida". Yippee, I got on the phone with WDT. I wanted to book a room only arriving on July 1, 2007. I booked All Star Music at rack rate and paid my one nights deposit. I viewed my reservation on line and it had my new arrival date of 7/1 but my old departure date of 10/1.
I called back and they said I had to pay up in full for a 7/1 arrival even though I am paying rack rate, room only. I've never heard of that before, but usually I book way in advance.
Now I look online and I have three reservation numbers for the same 4 night stay.
I just booked Spirit Air out of AC for $174.90 RT. We usually fly out of Newark but CO wanted $647.60 for two and Jet Blue wanted $647.60 for two. I am paying $349.80 for two on no frills Spirit, plus $10 bag check.
I check back with WDT tomorrow to make sure my reservation is ok.

If it's room only you pay only the one night deposit. Period.

If they're looking for the full amount up front - someone has booked you a package... even if it's just a minimal package that includes only mini-golf to make it a package under FL law.

Call back - speak to a supervisor if you must and get it sorted out.

Its not a package. They said it was a holiday week reservation and they required payment since it was made one week prior to arrival.

I - just this afternoon - booked GF July 1 -4 and then BC July 4 thru 9. For both ressies I was only required to put one nt deposit down. Not sure why they required full payment from you. :confused3

I am not even sure if we'll make the trip :guilty: .... WHEN should I cancel if not going???June 24 or June 25??? They didn't tell me!!!!

I've booked room only ressies before (for myself and other people) for the week of July 4th and have never had to put down more than a 1 night deposit and then pay the remainder of the balance upon check-in. I don't know why they would want you to pay in full right now, but I agree with a pp who suggested that you call and speak with a spuervisor or another CM.

Best of luck and have a :wizard: magical time.

I would call back. Sounds like you have a package. Room only requires a one night deposit - period. Doesn't matter about the holiday.

Could this be some new rule that none of us knows about?

While that certainly seems unlikely.. it *is* possible I suppose.

I would still suggest you call back and speak to a supervisor. This doesn't sound right. It sounds like a package... or something weird.

I called back three times. They were doing a computer upgrade yesterday and the last CM I spoke with said that the CM just made a mistake. He probably got to a new screen and didn't know what to do. My reservation is good, and I'm going to leave the payment. They offered to refund it, its only 9 days until we depart, and it won't make a difference on the CC that I used (same billing cycle).
I could have gotten an AP rate at a Mod King Room for $50 more per nite, but DH said as long as we have a rental car, lets stay at Music. Works for me.
