We will be off for a 9 day trip in about a month. I tried (and failed :( ) to get an illuminations cruise. I made reservations for the Hoop de Doo but now I am in a quandry about what else I should make ressies for. Usually we have just made them the morning of but I am thinking maybe there are other places I should make some priority seatings early.

I am open to suggestions for ideas of what to do/where to eat mostly in the evenings after the parks close early. There will be 2 grandparents who have never been to WDW, 2 adults who love it, 3 teens, an 8 year old and a just turned 3 year old. Weve been there twice and have enjoyed Ohana and the hoop de doo but not much else outside of the parks. (Sci fi dine in our favorite!)

Thanks for any ideas about your favorites for dinners (or lunches or breakfasts!)...We also were thinking about doing the Christmas party but don't have tickets yet.

Will I see you there, Melora????

I enjoy Chef Mickey's, Prime Time, Crystal Palace and Cape May Cafe. Fun places. Also, keep working on your cruise, especially as it gets closer, even while there, cancellations are made. Good luck.

Mel -

Looks like we'll be there right around the same time! it's such a beautiful time to be hangin' in The World. Anyway, here's some stuff that I'd think would be great for the whole family:

First of all, I'd say everyone would really love the 50's Prime Time over at MGM. I eat there at least twice on every trip, and I've read so many reports about folks who didn't know where to take grandparents for a "fun" but not obnoxious meal, and they all seem to report positive things about this. And, of course, kids love it!

I'd make a ressie and go to Boma over in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I haven't yet tried it, but I've also yet to hear one bad thing about it. I can't wait to try it! This would be agreat place to head after the AK closes for the day, as it's pretty close by. But from everything I've heard, I'd definitely make a ressie!

The Crystal Palace buffet is always fun, especially with kids AND grandparents. The kids get to interact with the Pooh characters, and the grandparents get the thrill of watching (and playing along!)

Downtown DIsney is a fun destination after the parks close, and there are all kinds of restaurants to choose from. Plus, if your park passes cover it, you could head over to Disney Quest (although you might want to let the grandparents go shopping or something during this particular time, as DisneyQuest can be pretty overwhelming!)

You could also head over to Port Orleans Riverside and catch Bob Jackson's act in the lounge there. Fun, and very family friendly.

Also, something I'd love to do if I was going with a family (I'm going with my best friend's clan next year and definitely plan to do this) is an evening over at Fort Wildernss. Start with the Trails End Buffet (yummy!), then the kids can see the petting zoo (or maybe have them do this first, depending on what time it closes). Check when they're doing the hayride or the campire/singalong or the movies... what a fun night that would be for everyone!

Have a great time!

Richard
