I was going to take some tea bags in my suitcase, but hubby suddenly had a panic about if we could take them in. Any one know? Am I likely to get fined> Is it safer just to leave them at home and get some when we arrive?

tea bags are fine to take. You won't get fined - as long as you declare that you are taking 'food' in when you complete your customs form on the flight.

They will ask you at customs & immigration what food you have and you tell them teabags (and anything else if applicable) and they will most likely tell you to just walk through the green lane, or might ask you to stop at the red one for your bags to be xrayed again. But you are allowed to take teabags. Just be aware that they count as 'food' :)

We went in June and took teabags, coffee and sweetners. We ticked that we were taking in food and when we got to immigration they asked us what we had. The officer wrote in big letters tea and coffee across the form and sent us on our way. Not a problem :)

I live here in US and travel back to England my family all in London have to bring back my PG tips I get large bags at Tesco 460 bags bring two or more just put it down and they say ok and pass me through also bring my kids back Cadburys.
