So, looks like our younger son may be joining us. As with most 26 yr olds, it's going to depend on money and time, neither of which he knows about right now! So, if he does join us (and he really wants to!) it'll be 'last minute'.

Does anyone know when the last date to add him to our reservation (and my MDE) is? We booked through Disney so would like to be able to add him in so he gets EMH & advanced FP+ reservations. IIRC he would be able to pick up his MagicBand at the Fort, right?

He'd be flying and we'd like him to be able to take Magical Express rather than our having to pick him up/drop him off at the airport. What documentation would he need to get on the bus?

Pretty sure you can add him up to 24 hrs before check-in date. Maybe even within 24 hrs. He would just be issued a generic grey Magic Band at the Fort check-in desk.

As for the DME, I always fly down and meet my parents, staying in their RV at the Fort. A couple years ago I forgot to add my DME reservation. I had no problem adding DME the day before I flew down. Without any DME paperwork or a magic band:

1) You will have to haul your own luggage as you won't have tags to get them to your resort.
2) Instead of getting your paperwork / magic band scanned at the DME check-in at the airport, you need to wait in line at the DME desk. They'll have your info in the computer system and issue your paperwork. This may add a bit of a delay depending on how long the line is.

A plus side of using the DME check-in counter that year was that I was able to re-route to the Contemporary for my drop off location. My parents were already parked in the 100 loop so it was actually quicker to go to the Contemp, then take the boat over near the 100 loop!

Why not just add him now? There's no real disadvantage or additional cost, right? I wouldn't buy him a ticket until you know for sure he's coming, though.

Thanks! He'll probably have only a backpack or carryon so luggage tags/delivery won't be an issue.

We're supposed to be in 300 loop. Picking him up at the checkin desk won't be a problem for us as he'd arrive on a non-park day, but he may actually enjoy the boat ride. Or we could meet at the Contemporary and ride back together.

We booked a package. I was under the impression that with packages you had to have the 'same thing' for everyone, so we'd have to buy him a ticket.

Oh, maybe that is the case. We have annual passes and book the site seperate, so it doesn't matter who is on the reservation.

I know it works like that with packages at DLR. But yes, if you book just the room (I'm a DL AP) then you just add them to the room.
