FYI-For those of you on a waitlist, keep the faith! I spoke to 2 different Customer Reps from MS today and they both said that this week coming (Easter Week) people were cancelling left and right. I inquired about an August date and she told me If I wanted she could get me in BWV for the whole week of Easter. The other one even said it's like nothing he's ever seen, cancellations at the BWV, BCV etc. Sadly, the economy is hitting people very hard.

Sounds like there's going to be a lot of points going into Holding... :sad2: I feel bad for the people who have to cancel, but I also hope it helps out the members that had to waitlist. :thumbsup2

I have many friends and acquaintances who wonder why I ever bought a timeshare in Orlando/Disney since I live only 2 1/2 hours away, and honestly that's exactly why I did buy into it. I could not afford DVC, if like many families on these boards, I had to fly in etc. For us, living in Florida, driving in and bringing food staples from home, it truly is an affordable vacation.

This is the firist time I've ever waitlisted, for friends who want to join us last minute, and MS said not to worry too much about it because certainly 30 days till and 7 days till there will be cancellations, more so than what they are used to seeing. So we'll wait and see, I res'd at SSR but would prefer for them to be with us at BWV or OKW.

My 9 month waitlist for May 3rd and 4th for AKV's Concierge came through Mar 23rd. I have had this waitlist since 9:00AM of the 11 month window. If people don't have a waitlist for their desired location, they need to add one.

Ohh I hope my waitlist comes through...I just checked, nothing yet. But maybe next week when we approach the 30 day window. :goodvibes

I'm hoping the SSR Treehouse waitlist comes thru for our family during our Thanksgiving trip. Will it update in the system automatically if it does?

WL is supposed to be automatic.
WL is automatic...but.

There is simply too much anecdotal evidence that calling works to ignore. Time after time, we see posts where DISers have been on waitlist, call MS to check, and are told "Your waitlist JUST came through!"

Magic does happen -- CALL!

I have a Thanksgiving waitlist, too. I've called a couple of times.

I'm going to wait for the 7 month window to open and see if there's movement as other people try to get into AKV or BLT. Then I'll probably be calling on a regular basis.

Oh I hope one of our WL's comes through for May 1-8!! We are booked at SSR (which I love) but waitlisted for BWV's and BCV's because we are doing an adults only trip and I wanted to be able to walk to EPCOT.

ETA: I just called and they said neither have come through yet.

The WAIT for the WAITLIST is painful :scared: We currently have a split stay from July 31st to August 9th at OKW and Boardwalk. We are waitlisted for the Beach Club and Boardwalk for the first 5 days of our stay. We really want to be in the Epcot area for our entire stay so I am anxiously checking the DVC site daily...and making a few calls checking :rolleyes1

My waitlist for the Boardwalk came through for June 11-13th. 3 weeks, not bad!

My waitlist for AKV concierge in the beginning of December came through!
It's interesting that they are reporting so many cancellations for Easter week (almost over by now). We were there the week before, and in talking to a couple of CMs, MK "closed" on Tuersday and Wednesday due to volume at the park. (I assume that was closed to off site folks). He said that typically that doesn't happen except for Christmas and New years.

We have a room at AKV for December, but are waitlisted for a different category. I hope it comes through!!

Sadly, the economy is hitting people very hard.

People are still trying to keep the faith though... holding onto those reservations until the last moment shows that they have every intention of going.

I recently had my wait list filled for July (nothing big - just moved from Jambo to Kidani), and although I'm extremely happy about it, I know somewhere it means someone canceled. It's about as exciting as a heart transplant: to let someone's plans live, someone's vacation plans die :(

I'd really like my waitlist to come through for a Boardwalk view in August (yeah, I know, slim chance), but I'd like to think it would be because something good happened, not because someone can't afford to take their vacation. I'm secretly hoping that a bunch of new 2-bedrooms will be declared into inventory at BLT, and that everyone who has a Boardwalk view will have a waitlist fulfilled to move over to the Contemporary -- leaving plenty of room for me to slip into their old rooms.

You all had me hopeful for a few minutes. I just called member services, and not only has my waitlist not come through, but there isn't a single night open for the week we'll be there.

For my wait list in June, the Friday had been available, it was the Thursday that I couldn't get. So I booked my friends at the last minute at SSR w/ and wait listed them for BWV so that hopefully it would come through and they could be with us. There was not a studio to be had anywhere for June 11th other than at SSR. I think that there is still hope for your Aug waitlist!
