OK, maybe it's time to get going again! less than 10 weeks to holiday! Odd but it feels little... kind of nervous this time I may actually end up achieving my goal
Plan for today - do proper shopping this morning and food prep. Yoga & swim lunch time and get ready for the week after.

Trying to get there. I have a few meals planned but I need to take some freezer inventory and plan the rest. Not sure if I mentioned this or not, but I ended up with the majority of the contents of DMIL's upstairs freezer (yup.... 93 y/o woman who lived alone had TWO freezers full of food..... she like grocery shopping almost as much as cooking!). None of it was really dated (unless it still had a grocery store label) so not knowing how long it has been frozen I want to use it up before my other stuff. Friday night was chicken drumsticks and I was DELIGHTED to see they had already been skinned! Thanks Mom!! I hate that job! Tonight is skinless chicken thighs, but they aren't fully defrosted yet so I don't know if they are bone-in or boneless. I have tons of garden veggies, so I will probably just grill these, regardless.
I stink.
Sorry I have been MIA this month - August is always super busy with the start of football and going back to work. I'm hoping to be back on some sort of routine next week and I'll be able to contribute more.
Weekly check in:
Last week I was at 226 lbs after gaining 9 lbs on vacation. Because of that, I made my goal for August to lose 11 lbs. The good news was that weight that came on so quickly also left quickly and I lost 9.5 lbs this week. I am 86% towards my goal.
It doesn't make any sense how I could gain that much so quick or lose that much so quick, so I'm not going to try and figure it out. I should probably adjust my goal for the month a little bit... maybe bump it up and try to get to 210 lbs... we'll see.
Two "quick" stories from yesterday:
My wife and I went to a winery yesterday with friends and then to dinner. One of the couples that were there we had met about a half dozen times before, but we hadn't seen them in probably close to a year. The guy introduces himself to me and at first I'm like, come on man, we've hung out before... you know who I am. We've sat at the same table at a few weddings and things... strange. My wife and I go get a drink and she is like, how does he not remember you? I say maybe it's because of the weight loss and because I have sunglasses on? We go back to the table and after about 5 minutes he just shouts, holy s---, that's Josh!!!! He felt so bad not recognizing me, but I told him that was the biggest complement someone could have given me. He was in shock the whole rest of the night about how much weight I lost.
The other thing I learned is having drinks at 320 lbs is a lot different than having drinks at 216 lbs. Let's just say my head is still pounding this morning. Lesson learned - I can't have as many drinks as I used to... today will be a rest day for sure.

I agree..... I don't know WHY that the vacation weight seems to disappear quickly, but it often does. I always joke that it hasn't had time to 'dig in its claws' yet..... fast on, fast off! That is one of the BIG benefits of getting right back on plan after a vacation!

Not a bad picture considering it 95 degrees outside and 85% humidity. I redid my makeup at least 4 times during the party. Too bad you couldn't see my shoes. They looked Dorothy shoes from the Wizard of Oz but silver. Not the bed because my feet at the end of the evening hurt.

Hey friends! Had to take a break from cleaning, so I wanted to pop on here and say hello. I got back from my quick overnight at DD's about noon, had a quick light lunch and have been cleaning ever since. My bedroom has just gotten out of control! That being said, it is really hot here again today and it makes cleaning a bit miserable.
I feel like the next 30 days are going to go by faster than lightening! I'm still working full-time summer maintenance at school, plus my weekly WW meeting plus my 24/7 chat job with WW. I start subbing at school BEFORE school actually starts (in the office) and the, of course, SCHOOL starts for me! Yup, scheduled to sub for a teacher on the second day of school! Then I move my DS to college that weekend! YIKES! Hope he is feeling more prepared than I do!! Then it will be a week of school, Labor day weekend..... and then DD and I leave for California and
Disneyland!! I can hardly believe it is nearly here! I was finally within 3 pounds of my DL goal weight before my vacation, but of course have rebounded up a bit, so I need to put the pedal to the metal and make significant progress in the next 25 days! My "good" summer shorts fit, but too snuggly for my taste.
I also gave DH a snorkeling trip to Bermuda for his 50th birthday and our (upcoming) 25th wedding anniversary The plan was to go in October, but I will say he isn't as enthusiastic about it as I had hoped. I know he is disappointed he has regained some of his weight and I'm sure he is thinking about beach/bathing suit photos. I will broach the subject of scheduling the trip when he gets home later and try to gauge what he's thinking. Maybe it will have to wait until spring???
Gotta have a snack and get cleaning..... I want watermelon, but I have a cantaloupe that can't wait any longer. I'm going to have a glass of sweetened kombucha tea too.... I find that really refreshing when it is so hot! And I need to get more brewing soon... this is my last serving!............P
