If it sat out a long time when you first made it, I would toss it...like 4+ hours. Otherwise, visual/sniff test should tell you whether it is good, and always reheat well
I am so mad I forgot to freeze it. I am one of those people that usually tosses things quickly. I don't trust leftovers for long, but I really do not want to waste since there is so much left.
We always eat leftover lasagna that's a week old. We love it reheated. I would eat some and freeze the rest if you don't think you can eat it all.

A week is my limit too. I think it's safe. But if you are really that worried then I would just toss it. I hate to waste food too, but I really think as long as it was refrigerated you're fine
I made some on Saturday and gave a piece to my dad who's eating it today (ours is long gone)... my dad eats some pretty nasty stuff though so lol... I would think it would be fine.
Personally if I make something over the weekend, I either eat or freeze it by Thursday or Friday. 5 days is the longest for me, mostly because I get tired of looking at it or I need more room.
I buy lunch meat for the kids' lunches over the weekend and I am still using that for them/myself on Friday. According to this chart I should have pitched it within 3 - 5 days. I guess it all comes down to what you feel comfortable with. Sorry, but I am not running to the grocery store just to get a few slices of lunch meat.
I guess I'm in the minority but I would toss it. I don't ever eat any left overs that are older then 2-3 days max. I don't eat meat but for the kids and DH if I make something like lasangna with ground beef the max I would serve it would be 2 days and maybe freeze it on day three first thing in the morning if it's still there. I made homemade mac and cheese on sunday night and I tossed the rest on Wed morning when I saw it was still in the fridge. I guess things can last alot longer then I thought they could I will even toss a container of sour cream or yogurt if it's been opened in the fridge longer than 5 days.
Sour cream is good for much longer than that. If it's not moldy, I'd use it for at least a couple of weeks after opening. Dairy is getting too expensive to toss so soon.
