Are you taking the DCL excursion? If so, here's the description from their website:
Know Before You Go

View important additional information to help you prepare for this exciting adventure.

  • This tour is available to all ages; since it involves a boat/vessel, infants under 3 years of age must have a child's ticket.
  • During summer months when ocean waters are warm, jellyfish may be present at swimming and snorkeling locations along the western coastline of Mexico. Officials recommend that Guests avoid contact with jellyfish, and those Guests allergic to bee or wasp stings should avoid swimming and snorkeling in the presence of jellyfish. Tour operators carry vinegar to treat jellyfish stings.
  • Buffet lunch (steak, chicken, seafood, salads) and beverages (bottled water, sparkling sodas, fruits juices, beer and spirits) are included. Please note that alcoholic drinks will be served after snorkeling.
  • Guests must be ambulatory. Wheelchairs (collapsible or electric) are not permitted. Tour operators will deny participation to Guests arriving in wheelchairs or electric scooters.
  • This tour is not recommended for Guests with limited mobility.
  • This excursion is stroller accessible. However, some portions of the tour may require Guests to fold accompanying strollers. In addition, lightweight strollers are recommended.
  • All equipment at the Kids Adventure Park is included and the activities are guided by trained and certified guides.
  • Life vests are included and compulsory for all Guests.
  • Spa treatments, massages, power snorkel and Flyboard are available at an additional cost.
  • Snorkel, mask and flippers are provided. Snorkel instruction is available upon request.
  • Kayak equipment is provided. Kayaks fit up to 2 persons. Maximum kayak weight limit is 250 lbs. per person.
  • Guests are encouraged to bring cash or credit cards to purchase optional extras such as souvenirs.
  • Due to limited availability, Guests are encouraged to book early.
  • You should never feel that gratuities are expected from you. However, it is customary to leave a gratuity in recognition of service at restaurants, for taxis, and for exceptional excursion guides and drivers. It is always up to you as to what you feel is appropriate.

Yes that is the one I am talking about. I am looking for someone who did the things that were (available at an additional cost)

I went in 2017 but didn’t do anything that was an additional cost. I could answer general questions though.

I've been but I don't recall anything being extra. We had an amazing time! Is there something specific you saw that costs extra? I don't recall there being anything extra at all. Everything was included as far as I remember.

When I went in 2017 there was definitely stuff that cost extra. For sure I remember a cooking class, massage, power snorkel, and fly boarding. They held up big signs on the boat ride over that showed the activities that cost extra. It seems like there was an animal encounter too, but I can't be sure. The kids adventure park (donkey ride, zip line and monkey encounter) is not an extra charge, and neither is the teen area which has a zipline. We participated in both of those.

I guess it's been a few years and I don't remember any of that stuff. I was possibly not interested in it so I sort of put it out of my mind! :)

I went in 2016 and at that time the cost of the extras was:

  • Spa services (1-hour massage was only $59!)
  • Sea lion and stingray encounter in open water ($49)
  • Scuba Diving ($49)
  • Power Snorkeling ($39)
  • Flyboard ($49)
  • Professional photos
The zipline, slide into the ocean, kids area, guided jungle walk, etc. were all included. You can see my full review here: https://milesforfamily.com/2016/10/19/las-caletas-monkeys-hammocks-zip-lines-perfect-beach/

OMG I wish we had two days there. I don't know how I'll choose!
