I seem to remember reading somewhere that when you boards and give your KTTW card, you are also given a lanyard with it. Is this true or should I bring my own?

If you are a member of the Castaway club, yes. If you aren't, you can buy them from the coffee bar. The bought ones are pricey, but they are DCL lanyards that you wont get anywhere else.

We are CC members, but I want to say they are $8 each and you can get them at the gift shop or GS as well. :thumbsup2

Since this is my first Disney cruise, I will be purchasing the lanyards once we board. Is there a pouch included with them to place our KTTW in, or do we need to a hole punch for our keys?

Sometimes you can find them cheaper on eBay, too.

They usually come with a pocket. (I've read that punching a hole in the card will render it useless for charging so you might want to check that before altering it. )

Yes that is true. Don't punch a hole in your KTTW card.

Thanks everyone!
From what I have experienced and read...as long as you dont punch the hole through the magnetic strip that it is fine. However, I would definitely make sure this was ok with DCL before doing it!

Ditto.....we have punched our cards before with no problems as long as it is not on the magnetic strip.

Who punches a hole in your KTTW card? Do you bring your own hole punch? Can a CM do it at check in?

When we checked in for our cruises. DCL CM's punched holes in our children's cards as a sign that they do not have charging priviledges.

Joe

Correct, for kids cards a hole punched in them will mean they are not for charging....but for an adult it really does not make a difference...at least in our experience.....your mileage may vary.

And to the poster that asked about who punched the hole...we brought a small hole puncher.

They will punch a hole in your KTTW card at Guest Services. We feel it is more secure than the open pocket that comes with the lanyard.

Does anyone have a photo of their CC lanyard?

The one on the left is the CC lanyard. The one on the right is the ones they sell at the terminal for $8.50.

Also, if you are a DVC member, you receive free lanyards....we had so many we didn't know what to do!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

They do sell lanyards at the terminal before you board the ship? Or do you have to get on the ship before you can buy them?

Thank-you for posting this! We are 1st time cruisers, so I probably would have bought one as soon as I boarded, or looked for one on ebay, and had too many too!!
