What state? I was always under the impression Quincy, IL was pronounced "Quin-see".
Where I live (NJ) Buena is pronounced BYOO-nuh.
As far as regional foods, Chicago has plenty that are well-known: deep dish pizza, Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago style hot dogs.... Probably less well known is Chicago style thin crust pizza, cut into squares. This is the kind of pizza I grew up eating:

It's funny the things you learn on the DIS. I grew up in northern Wisconsin and never heard a water/drinking fountain referred to as a bubbler. Must be a southern Wisconsin thing.![]()
This is the kind of pizza served here in MN and it's my FAVORITE! Soooooo good and cheesy!
Sammy's pizza by any chance?

I'm in South Florida - key lime pie is most certainly OUR thing.
My parents were originally from Cincinnati, and my dad absolutely loved Skyline Chili. I love it, and now my kids love it. Their first request when we head up there this summer is lunch at Skyline.I love a good 3 way! Actually, a 4 way is my personal favorite.

Ha! Yeah, I'm talking about chili. 3 way is spaghetti/chili/cheese. 4 way is spaghetti/chili/cheese/ and either beans or onions. Naturally, 5 way is all ingredients.
Looks crazy, and sounds worse considering the chili has cinnamon in it but it grows on you!
Michigan or Minnesota?Pasties!
No, not the pasties you'd see at the gentleman's club. They're meat pies. Popular with miners way back when. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasty
How about the bubbler imnot sure if it's a Midwestern term or just WI. Most places call it a drinking fountain. When I was a kid we were on vacation in CO. My little brother needed a drink. So my mom asked a guy in the store if they had a bubbler talk about being looked at like you have 2heads
