day 4
Today we check into AllStar Movies resort and begin our days at the park. We set a 530 wake up call and after packing everything into the car the night before , we make quick business of finishing our packing and head to the resort.
We check in and buy our Resort Mugs and have a quick breakfast in the food court Mickey waffles and eggs (52.00! but that includes 2 mugs at $10.99 each) dd8 also picks up her complementary pin trader lanyard and a few pins at the gift shop in the lobby.. she is really exited about trading pins. Our room of course is not ready at 7 am so we leave our luggage in the car.
We take the Disney bus to EPCOT and find the gates already open at 845.. so we head toward our planned rides in a nearly deserted park... the weather is wet and cold.. but not miserable. We walk onto spaceship earth, into the imagination station and nearly everything else..weexpected a long line at. DH decides not to brave test track and we head to living seas. We procede through the levels and after about an hour and seeing the feeding presentations we stop for the neccessary potty stop... I head to one stall and dd2 (who is VERY independant and WONT pee with anyone in the stall) into the next.. i suddenly hear the toilet autoflush and my normally fearless daughter scream... so i of course rush out and find her standing in a puddle and crying uncontrolably.. "mommy a ghost flush my potty" she had been so scared of the autoflush she wet herself! LOL It was so funny.. I had a hard time explaining it to her and being sympathetic.
So seeng as all our luggage was in the car back at ASMO I buy her a slightly oversized tshirt and shorts from the gift shop at livingseas ($35.00! UGH see if you catch me in a park without extra clothes again!)
next we head to the world showcase. mexico is lovely.. i had read it was boring and dated. on the contrary we enjoyed it. The girls ate churos and then we headed around the lagoon. DD2 now fully recovered lOVED norway and the maelstom! (why fastpass? this place was deserted!) We rode twice and then they worked on thier masks for about 30 min while dh and i explored the shop.
The rain is begining to really come down and we get a turkey leg and head further around the lagoon see canada (as someone raised in alaska it made me homesick) We then proceded to the Garden Grill and our 3:00 PS for the ice cream social. The deserts were wonderful and the character interaction was fantastic. Our first sight of the characters and these were great .. very patient to work with my dd2 who after her morning was a little shy. social was good and the characters really set my kids up to be comfy with future meetings.. that alone was worth $32.00
After eating ice cream we are cold and need a break, so we get back on the bus to get settled into our hotel. The room are so cute! However.. they are FAR smaller than the Rodeway Inn rooms. While the themeing is cute (love bug) we think our money is better spent elsewhere next time. imho
After getting cleaned up and eating a Mcdonalds dinner ($21.00) we go back to EPCOT and get in position for Illuminations.. WONDERFUL!!! We are right at the front of the lagoon next to the water.. great view of everything. After the show we drag back to the hotel and kids are sleeping before I get out of a quick shower!
