Ok, I have a question.....what do you mean by the 'plan?' If you were the manager, would it HELP you if I used coupons and got everything for really little?

My DH was also wondering how they report my phone number each time and get a redemption for it. He mentioned that today when I was told not to use any more. I mean, if my number comes up 15 times attached to 15 different coupons, does the headquarters red flag it and not reimburse them?

I honestly wasn't trying to cheat anyone. I was just looking for a great deal. I gave the same phone number each time!

Yikes!,

Dawn

Plan is basically what the store needs to bring in for the day...usually based on sales around that time the previous year...tweaked up for weekends, holidays, sales, tax free days, etc etc etc...but rarely adjusted down for rising gas prices or a poor job market, or the two big super malls within 20 miles in either direction that were built within the last year, or the fact that people who spend big money in the big stores tend to have buyer's remorse and return merchandise tp the smaller stores closer to their homes and the smaller store takes the hit for the return (can you tell this was a headache for me? lol) If the coupons are bringing people into my store even with the discount that is still sales going toward plan for the day....average dollar sales are going to suck...but there would be some hope of meeting the sales number for that day.....you could have had a store manager that just didn't care...they let you do it at that store I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

It could be different now...different company...different values....but the expectations are high for a job that doesn't pay a whole heck of alot for the effort and time put in...looking back I never ever would have put in 70-80 hour weeks, or pulled overnights for corporate visits because that little thread on the floor was going to get you reemed by your regional manager after the visit was over.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. So it is up to the manager of that particular store. I can see how sales would be way different. The mall and the one near me had tons of clearance items.

I visited a new one (to me) today because I just happened to be over there. They had VERY LITTLE on clearance.

Do you know anything about the LB Outlets? Are they mostly out of date/last year's model clothing? We have one about 20 miles from me. I have thought of going up there.

Thanks,

Dawn

The coupons go both ways-- read the exclusions. Sometimes they allow clearance and others they don't. I have this one in my email and it doesn't exclude clearance.

As for the outlets, they only just started opening those per my email awhile ago, recently. I'm really excited to go to one, closest here is about 90 minutes away-- but we make our annual fall holiday shopping trip in October and there is one at that mall that opened 8/1-- so I cannot wait to see. I'm sure it will be like any other outlet and have same season clothing.

I was given a skirt by a friend. It is my size, but WAY too long for me. I figured she bought it a while ago. It still had the tags on it and obviously had not been worn.

I took it back. They said they no longer carry those and could not take it back.

So, I may stick it on ebay with a few other items that aren't really working for me.

Probably depends on the store/store manager. I haven't worked for Lane Bryant since it was owned by the Limited. But some stores do get hit hard during the tight financial times......especially the ones in smaller malls with little traffic.....if I was falling below 'plan' for that day I certainly would encourage coupon use...honestly who is going to stop a customer from coming in 10 different times and making up 10 different phone numbers? Isn't this the same store where no sale is ever final?(did they stop that policy?) and you had to happily accept back clothes there were worn for an entire season(including underwear) and watch that customer use that refund towards a whole new wardrobe that was likely to come back in 6 months time well worn....but perfectly matched with tags and receipt?
.....who wants to listen to their district manager complain when the numbers are called in and they don't see the 200 teenagers walking around the mall and no one else?

Thanks Dawn!

I used one tonight for a shirt I will wear on our next Disney Cruise. Cost me $8.70 after their 40% off and the $15.00 coupon.

I just printed off 2 more because I found another shirt for the cruise and couple of $10.00 t-shirts!

Is there a link for the 40% off coupon? I did go into a LB this afternoon and got a $9.99 clearance blouse and 2 pair of panties for $3.22 after the $15 off coupon. There is an outfit I'd like but it's regular price. The 40% would be great!

I've used the coupon/cards I get in the mail all the time, but only the $15 free one, and the first time after spending a lot of time looking and trying, was annoyed to find out about it not being valid on the perfectly priced items, final yellow clearance items, or accessories. So, I"ve learned to go to the lingerie racks, I've gotten some sleep separates for almost nothing, and even a Cacique leisure type bra (no underwire) for lounging around home. Yesterday I went in with my online coupon and checked first that they accept it, then got a tank pj top on sale for $16.50, so got it for $1.50. The cashier looked at it really close to check for exclusions, and when she asked for my phone number, I said, I'd prefer not to give it, knowing that I was going to come in again with another one, and didn't want to be linked via computer, and risk them knowing that I'd used that coupon before. I'm going back today to get the little pj shorts that are only $16.50, and will complete my summer pj outfit with that additional $1.50 spent! I wouldn't dare go in with several of the coupons, but will go in separate days and hope the cashiers don't recognize me!

The first one I used the sales people would not use the coupon on perfectly priced or clearance items. I found 1 thing and that was it. I went to a different store and they had no problem with the clearance stuff and I asked if I could do 2 separate transactions because I had 2 coupons. The cashier said no problem. I used cash and she never asked for a phone number. So, I have purchased 2 dress shirts and 3 t-shirts for less than $19 dollars out of my pocket. YEAH! Tempted to go get a few more t-shirts for $2.50 each (can't beat that deal).

Wow. Just went on there website and didn't like anything they had.

Yuck. The fabrics don't look like high quality. Did they change designers or something? I usually like their stuff, but no longer.
