Had a mainly great 23 days in Florida, weather very very hot, 94 degrees some days :cloud9:
didnt do as much as we could of, 23 days is still not enough time :rotfl:
last weekend it rained for 44 hrs non stop, so that didnt help!
parks were very quiet with queue times around 10 minutes for the first couple of weeks or so, noticed last week it had got a lot busier.
magic kingdom was absolutely heaving last wednesday, it was open until 10 then they extended it to 11pm, we were all squashed watching wishes and the electrical light parade!
last time i saw it that busy was when we went on christmas day a few yrs ago
On our last day in the villa, we were treated absolutley appallingly by the management company, who turned up dead on 10am - leaving time, the short version of it was that we were told to get out straight away as the owners were outside waiting to get in, we were screamed at told to leave, threatened with the police etc, in 14 yrs of renting villas, we have never ever been treated like that, I was absolutely gob smacked. even the villa owners were joining in and giving us dirty looks - we have paid £200 deposit, and I have a feeling they wont pay that back..
that spoiled our last day completely :sad2:

When we arrived at the villa at 8.30pm, the air con was on at 82 degrees, the villa was so warm it was very uncomfortable to sleep in even with the fans on. The following day we phoned the management company to let them know we had arrived and to ask about whether we could turn the air con down. His attitude was to scoff and tell me his own air con is set at 82, and the reason we are so hot is that the villa has high ceilings and we should just leave the fans on all the time, and he would phone back in a couple of days time to see how it is, his attitude was awful.. upstairs was even worse as it was so stifling in the bedrooms even with the fans whirring away. he phoned back and eventually relented and let us turn the air con down to 75 degrees-what a difference!
a few days later he came around to change fire extinguishers and we were met with a stern scowl!
nearly 2 wks in and i couldnt find any spare bedding so i washed and dried on same day, little did i know that one of us had put bedding in a cupboard in a bathroom.. in the mean time i had emailed the owner very politely to say there wasn't a spare set of sheets for every bed in the house,it wasnt a problem to us but just to alert her incase she thought we had pinched it!
we had also pushed 2 single beds together for a couple of days and had carefully lifted the chest of drawers.
on the day we were leaving the management company woman came in with the villa owner as explained above.straight away she showed me the missing bedding and said she had had a go at the maid about it also she said we were not allowed to move anything at all and we had broken the bottom drawer in the chest of drawers as it was not straight according to her, so i went over and straightened it, the drawer just wasnt fully pushed in! the day before we had put the bedroom back to how it was.
they had apparently been in the villa while we were out to check out the bedding and thats how she knew the beds had been pushed together.. i thought they had to ring to before hand before just walking in??
we also put the aircon back to 82 as we found it and was screamed at that we had set it to 87- it read 77 -he read it wrong...
I probably haven't written this as well as i could, but i hope it makes sense
reading the above it sounds like it was all my fault??

Welcome back........sorry to hear of last days antics.
How come the management company came, if the owners were also there?
I am sure the other 22 days out shone this one :)

Goodness so sorry your trip ended so badly. :scared1:

The owners had landed last wednesday and stayed in a hotel for 2 days, they asked before our holiday if they could leave their suitcases in the garage on our last morning so they could go off to typhoon lagoon, no probs at all we said.
we had a knock on the door in marched the management lady followed by the villa owner lady, the manager said " do you mind if we have a look around"- so they went around the villa- no idea why  she was like a female hitler, and the villa owner never said a word, she just followed behind!
If there are any villa owners on here, please could you pm me as I need advice

Glad you had a good time :) Sorry to hear about your last day thats crazy no way should you all have been treated like that. I hope you get your deposit back no way would I let them keep it.

Sorry to hear you were treated so badly:scared1:...but glad you had a good holiday:thumbsup2

That is appalling - if you hadnt paid to stay there fair enough, but you were a paying customer. I would complain if I were you. Anytime is bad but 10.00 a.m. is a bit early

That is absolutly unbelieveable behaviour from the owner and management company.
My advice would be sit tight and say nothing until you know for sure if you are getting the deposit back. A kind of dont rattle cages until you have nothing to lose.
If you do have to fight for your deposit back I can suggest that you threaten to take the owners to the small claims court - you can actually fill it all in online nad email them the filled in forms without actually paying a penny. When we had an issue this did the trick and the money was returned quicker than grease lightning!
I got a lot of advice from owners on the dibb forum so if you dont get anything helpful I suggest you ask over there. One owner even took the time to call me to go over my options. (also where the idea of small claims court came from)

I hope that when you look back at this holiday in years to come this is a distant memory

Sorry to hear about the problem at the villa.

Sounds like you had a great 23 days :)

23 days is definitely not enough time..
i think the only amount of time that's enough is actually living in orlando :)

so sorry about the villa experience... truly appalling!!

Glad you had at good time apart from the villa check out.
Most check out times at villas is 10.00 or 11.00. They should not of threatened you.
You should get your deposit back as you have not done any damage

Barbara

Glad you had at good time apart from the villa check out.
What time was your check out time at the villa? It should be on your T&C. Most check out times at villas is 10.00 or 11.00.

Barbara

Jeanette has said 10am was the leaving time, it sounds like the attitude was the problem. If it was my villa and I was there waiting to go in at 10am I would expect it cleared by 10am but I wouldn't threaten with getting the police, I am a stickler for time but thats a bit OTT.

Welcome home Jeanette, glad the rest of the trip was good.

Glad you had an excellent time!

Although not so sure about the management of the Villa! You dont need that on your last day do you. If they started screaming at me, id be awkward and stage a sit in! :lmao:

Clearly they weren't worried about repeat business.

Are you doing a TR?

Glad to hear you had a great time (except for the last day of course, sounds terrible!)

What a shame about the last day - were you on your way out when they knocked on the door? We have had a courtesy phone call before to check we would be out on time but nothing threatening. How bad :scared1:

I truly hope this doesn't spoil your other 23 days of enjoyment :flower3:
