Land Of The Lost - The DVC Members with Resort Reservations and No Tickets Crying Room....

I want to believe there will be space but the APS haven't been opened. I understand this is a safe place.... soooo I can't stand one more post from someone with 9 trips planned worried about getting all of their park reservations while I have one trip with guests that don't have tickets in AUGUST and not sure there will get anything left. The reservations may be gone once it opens to the AP holders.

I get how painful it's been to read the boards the last few days. The lack of compassion for the 2020 non ticket holders (you should have bought them, already! It's all your fault!), the shouts of joy from those that had their reservations while we sit on the sidelines has been a tough pill to swallow. Once this all settles and I don't feel the need to check these boards constantly to get the information that Disney flat out refuses to give us I'll be taking a break for awhile. It's not the fun place it used to be.

Funny thing is the reservation in jeopardy in our family isn't for me or my husband. Ours is in Oct and we are good to go. The one in question is for our son and his friends in Aug to celebrate their (crappy virtual) college graduations. I'd gladly give up our trip a thousand times over for them, but due to a ton of reasons that isn't possible. Funny thing, when it came time to make park reservations for my and DH's trip my Macbook was completely useless. I couldn't get into the system at all. So my son said, "let me do it Mom". His powerful Alienware Windows based laptop got right in using the dining hack and he ended up booking our park reservations. And yet he has to sit and wait to see if his friends without tickets can get in.

I know one thing. Disney will not be getting our 2 bedroom Copper Creek villa back into inventory. If we cancel the points will end up expiring in Nov before we can reuse them anyway, so we are keeping it. He and his friends are fully prepared to crash there and hit up the various other things to do in Orlando- hello Universal!! It's the hill we plan on dying on. Disney will not get that room back to give to anyone else. It's ours.

Edited: I've edited this post as I was confused about the dates AP's could book.

I feel your pain, believe me. But I just want to point out that AP's did begin making park reservations today. One would think if someone cares enough to be an AP holder, they would be on the ball and make reservations ASAP. So I think we are over the largest part of the AP hump.

I thought APs started the June 26th...

Well, crap! You're right. I give up. I don't know why I thought it was today other than my brain is fried dealing with all this stuff (which ironically enough is without a doubt the absolute least important problem we have right now!). My son and I have been watching that stupid calendar all day and thinking maybe they had a chance.

 Seriously, I give up. (but we aren't giving up that 2 BR villa at CC!!! )

I have a reservation at Copper Creek 9/21 and received an email from Disney today about whether or not we plan to keep it, change it, ot cancel it. When I replied that I was going to keep it, it said I would be receiving another email regarding details, which I'm assuming if it's open or not
This is an interesting one I personally have not heard. keep us updated, I am staying at CCV 2 weeks after

The one hope I have is if they open up day guests with existing tickets WITHOUT resort reservations before us that there can’t be that many people with specific date tickets. Maybe I am underestimating that. And AP without resort reservations have a max of 3 days.
PS - we will chase away those animals with pitchforks and torches that come through here with their 12 trips and are missing one park res!

I also have a 2 bed at copper creek in October and if all else fails I plan on stomping around the resort all week moaning and complaining.

for your son and his college buddies, they are in that ”Universal is more fun” age group anyway.

I'll toss my hat in here too,
Oct 30 - Nov 9,
I HAD an AP in my basket...left for a day and the next day while on the phone with a CM trying to sell it to me the next day (we walked through the whole process, she added it the cart no problem), then WHAM, No sale, she said that's weird and we tried for several more times all of which failed. We initially thought it was my payment method so as to not eat up her time, I checked online and I was able to add it and put it in my cart, and disconnected from the call.
I tried buying one online the sale failed again, I called my card issuer and they said they had not even seen anything attempt to come through. I immediately called membership back, got someone who only kept repeating, AP's are not for sale, I tried to explain I just had one in the cart, and I just tried to purchase one, but alas, the CM of course does not have the ability to override...So, I decided to dig into the sale page. I opened the chrome-dev tools and watched the transaction fail again, it was a POST 400 error, Order not saved (if there are any CMs who work IT and read this, I have the full error stack if you want it).
Once I saw the error I understood that Disney was starting to block sales...I was caught right in the middle of it!...it stayed in my cart taunting me for two days constantly throwing errors at me...of course never allowing the purchase.

I had a very similar situation. They had no idea sales were stopping.

Like some of you have said, a solution may be to book a cash night before your DVC trip starts and add tickets to this package. Then you can book your park passes. You could show up/fly in a night early and get a jump start on your vacay. Or, if you later decide it won’t work out, buy tickets when they are for sale again, add them to MDE, the cancel your cash room/ticket package.

Even before all this we would often do this. We tend to like to fly in after work on a Friday, and don’t want to use points on an arrival at 10pm. So we would book a pop room with tickets as a package for the night we flew in, only having to put down $200 for the package, and it would allow us to have tickets, a cheap room to sleep in the night we flew in, and we’d wake up already at Disney! It was perfect. (And it was also nice knowing that IF something happened and we had to cancel, we could cancel the package 45 days out and not be on the hook for the tickets).

Has this been verified by anybody though? Like has anyone succeeded in doing this?

if I have a dvc reservation for October 2020 can I try to add a cash reservation for a night and buy tickets or is that not available yet? I would love to try that route.

No one knows for sure.. It’s worth a try😉

I guess I’m more so wondering if 2020 cash rooms are even available to buy right now? If so, I’ll for sure try today. But I was under the impression only 2021 packages are available? I could totally be wrong though. My brain is overloaded with Disney info 🤦🏻‍♀️

They extended the multiday tickets t September 2021...so they don’t know when people will know use them.

That was part of the reason they needed to at least give them a chance to book before selling new tickets,

Hopefully, some of the information out there proves true and the plan to make that time between them having a chance and new sales isn’t as long as we think.

I do know that the lack of sell out so far is below what they were worried about...which may mean later this summer, turns out not to really be later.

I had multiple tickets attached to myself and two others and when I made park days, it did not ask me to choose which ticket to use.

After booking, I did transfer two of the tickets to a friend and she was able to book with them,

My DD and her BF now only have one and we have not lost their park days.

So, as long as new tickets are added before they cancel the package it would work...of course, now you are talking 3 days...if the 28th holds true..so unless it’s a situation where someone has a few guests without and want them to match what other have, it probably can wait.

I tried this for our trip next February- it isn't working. It created duplicates of half of my family in the system and won't let either the real us or the duplicate pick park dates. Now my account is all messed up AND we might be stuck with a room only trip to mourn my birthday.

The new info on the DVC FAQs says stand alone tickets for 2021 will be availBe June 28th for sale.

No word on 2020

Ok so it’s physically on the site. So I hope we can get annual passes cause I don’t want to be buying tickets only. I have a second trip to book next month so that means I would have to buy 2 sets of tickets so that is going to get all wonky. I hope we can buy passes Sunday and be done with all this.
