I know I'm not catching up and it doesn't look like it is gonna happen. I am exhausted. My mom, sister and her partner (who all live next door) came over when the tornado watch started. I have a basement, they don't. So, we spent most of the afternoon watching the horrible and scary news coverage of the weather. Local channels had nothing but weather on all day. Tracking the storms, reporting on the damages (and a few injuries and deaths), updating the warnings, etc. Our sirens only went off once and we all spent about an hour in the basement listening to the radio. The boys had a great time playing with all the toys stored down there.

Anyway, I am physically and mentally spent. Keeping up with the storms and keeping everyone happy... I'm beat.

I'll be checking in from time to time tonight, so don't think I'm headed for bed or anything like that.

Stay safe!

Absolutely stay safe!

Back from my aniversary dinner...went to Outback..it was yummy and smoke free :goodvibes

Now my children have been banished to their rooms and I have to get ready for a party soon. I don't plan to stay too long, so I should be back on here later tonight.

I'm glad you had a good dinner Lara. Is the party for you?

Pudding Girl is getting all whiny about other people's business again. Why? Is this another made up post? If so, why? If not, why?

Sounds romantic!;) On our 1st anniversary we went out to dinner (a steak place on the MS Gulf--what were we thinking?) and then back to our place(his hotel room while in training at Keesler AFB for 5 months)--where DH called his mom (returned a call, actually). I was
p1$$ed! But we are still married almost 16 years later.:cloud9: :rolleyes1

You talking about the engagment ring thread?

Quick question -- by putting "Eat Me" next to the crab in my siggy, am I gonna get in trouble for that?

Yeah, the Engagement Ring thread. I mean, it isn't that exciting or controversial. She isn't even getting the usual bashing folks to post. But, the whole "I have a friend" thing... it's getting old.

I dunno what gets points and what doesn't. I would think anyone with a sense of humor would get the Eat Me with the crab and just laugh, but I don't know how the mods work. :confused3

Hey, losers. We took the kids to the lakefront and playground, then had dinner at the seafood restaurant in the marina. Oysters and crab cakes, oh yeah.

Depends on who sees it, and if someone peed in their cornflakes that day.

Lara, is your anniversary today? If so, Happy Anniversary! If not, Happy Early Anniversary! :teeth:

make sure you stay safe

I'm heading off to settle everyone and go to bed. I'm beat.

We're supposed to have sunny skies and warm temps tomorrow. Thank goodness the nasty weather is giving us a break.

I finally have over 1000 posts!:cool1:

I am dying for seafood after hearing all of you on the coast. I can have a great steak any day, but I'm dying for something from the water. I'm thinking about hosting a shrimp boil here as soon as it warms up a little bit. Maybe I'll get daring and try one of those crab cake recipes. Only time I had fresh crab was when we went to VA beach. My mouth is watering at the thought.

DD is heading back to school in the am.:sad1:
She tells John she needs to bring things back so he tells her okay we will go to the store. Shaunna laughs and says why I just shop from here. He thought she shopped on line. Then into the kitchen and closets she went:rotfl: So now I need to go to the store

My DIL'S stocked their pantries all the time for that purpose. They had about 4 kids in college at one time, and even after they graduated and got married, they would still come over and "shop".

She always keeps a stash of Sanders Hot Fudge for ice cream for me..you can only get it in Michigan (or online now) and it is the BEST hot fuge you have ever had...She brought me TWO big jars when they came to visit this time. She sends it to me for Christmas!

They have gone back to their hotel now, DH is on his way home from taking them back. This weekend went very well. We did nothing yesterday, today we went and cleaned the church for about an hourr and a half..Then we came home, had lunch..went to their hotel. It was a Westin resort..very nice. The boys went swimming in the pool, we sat around for awhile as they played pool, walked around. Then we took the ferry across the river to the "Party" area, not too crowded..although lots of people. Then we came back to the hotel, drove to our neighborhood Applebees and had dinner. Then we came back here and had ice cream cake for an early prebirthday party for DS9. Then they went back to the hotel. Very painless, actually very nice.
So now I have the rest of the weekend off!! I am gonna lay around like Jabba the Hut all day tomorrow and nobody better say nothin' about it!!

Lara, I am glad you are happy with the daycare, now you can stop worrying about one thing..

Kellie is so sweet to ask me to email back and forth to John with you guys. He says I can post "cut and pastes" from his emails, so I won't screw up any translations...like instead of "Kellie's surgery went fine and she is resting quietly"- I might write "Kellie is sugary and fine like cheese whiz with chai tea." :confused3 Hey it could happen! Anyway, I will also link some of our posts back to John..I dunno though, I am thinking that as soon as Kellie gets some rest, she is gonna be back on the boards getting into trouble..

Holy Moly RVGal!! What did you guys do out there in your part of the country to tick off Mother nature so bad?? I KNOW you are glad your're not out in that camper with this weather going on..

Well, I am gonna sign off early tonight folks. I have had enough fun and laughter for today. Looking forward to the circulars tomorrow so I can start in with IAHD's CVS savings plan. I love free/next to nothin' things!

Nighty night y'all...

Anniversary dinner AND a party?? You're a busy girl!!
Too busy...I'm freakin tired!!!

I'm glad you had a good dinner Lara. Is the party for you?

Pudding Girl is getting all whiny about other people's business again. Why? Is this another made up post? If so, why? If not, why?

Party was for a friend, her birthday. After 11 years, a good aniversary is the kids giving us peace and quiet.

Had to stop in and say hey! Some of you may recognize me from the TF thread :) Thought I would come over and see what you girls are up to over here, since I already know some of you are a fun bunch! So how long has this group been together on this thread? I sort of feel like I am crashing a party! :tiptoe:

I am also coming over to check it out. The TF thread has been great & this was recommended. But it does feel like crashing a party:rolleyes1

All of the "Losers" must have went to bed. Time for me to go too..I am still at work..time to leave! Happy Sunday to everyone!

Don't worry about crashing. We have no rules here.

Well, we have one rule. You have to tell us every loserish thing you do.

Feed the kids cupcakes for breakfast?? We wanna know.

Did 10 loads of laundry, but didn't fold any of it? We wanna know.

Well, it's been a bit of a hectic evening for me. Spent a couple of hours in the ER with DS3.

He was running through the house, fell, hit his head, and took out a chunk. It was really gross.

The doctor was pretty good. Pretty slow too. But she made him a balloon doggie, so he was happy.

Anyhow, I'm beat. I think I'm heading to the Ocean tomorrow to check out some prospective buyers. I probably won't be around.

So, don't get in too much trouble without me.

Well, loooonnnnngggg day! Up at 7AM - dress 2 kids who went to bed too late - off to Easter with Mr. EB. Leave EB at 9 and sign up DS for football - what the heck is this sign up 6 months before the season crap anyway :confused3 Other gripe of the week - EVERY sport sign up is telling me they need a birth certificate with the raised official seal - SORRY but you can have a copy! At $150+ per sport, plus equipment, etc. I am not going to the Town Hall to get originals for them to keep on file and pay another $10 each for them. There is 1 "official" birth certificate in our safe and there is no need for a handful of them to be out in circulation with all the identity theft, etc. Anyway, then work 9:30-4 I had to work and had to tell my boss that I am cutting my hours from 30 to 10 per week. I am going 32 hours at my weekday job M-F 8A-3P (same hours kids will be in school) and getting off nights and weekends  Left work, went to Walgreens to pick up a script and free $25 gift card for xsfering (new store offer!), went home, made supper, had my strawberry shortcake, and now here I am. Now to respond to the daily posts........

Only about 14 pages left :scared1:

okay shore I told John that before the sergury he needs to take me out for a good crap dinner.
He knew I was up to something when I kept telling how we need to wath some reruns of the deadliest catch

OK, but I would think that even a bad crab dinner wouldn't be a crap dinner :rotfl: Thinking happy thoughts for the next several days/weeks/months for you!

The trick is to change your name and NOT tell them what you changed it to.

My brother was telling my 4 yo niece that if she didn't do something (I can't remember what) then he was going to be angry. Her response was "hello Mr. Angry" :rotfl2:

And my lovely son was in the car this weekend when I got off an exit early looking for a store. We were talking about opposites - whats the op of night = day, light = dark, etc. Well I was on the MA/CT border trying to be in CT and when I said what is the opposite of Right the smart#ss part of him responds with CT is too the left  Cracked my DH up! Guess you had to be there.

I do that too. I find a really obnoxious station and turn it up really loud. The boys totally hate it! It usually stops the fighting. They spend the whole time crying, "Turn it DOWN!!"

I have been known to banish them to the way back too. They also have to face their own window.

Done #1. I get the arguement....Mommy, Michael/Victoria is looking out MY window! Nope kiddo, my car my window, both of you LOOK AT THE FLOOR!
My best punishment.....make them sit on the couch and hold hands for 10 minutes  :scared1: They are not happy with that one!

Th FL was on National news. She had her kid at the car wash and was spraying the child as a form of punishment. I heard that she said some pretty nasty stuff to the kid too but I never heard the audio.

Love that she's also 5 months pregnant with #2  :sad2: I also liked how they said "well she didn't spray the child at full spray" :confused3 So, she took the kid into a freaking car wash and hosed him down, not your local McDonalds and washed him up/changed him.

How terribly sad. I never watch the news because it makes me too depressed. I hate stories about kids. I hate stories about people dying. I hate stories about politicians too.

I am almost in tears just thinking about it.

I usually skip the news for the same reasons.....too depressing.

Anyway, I am physically and mentally spent. Keeping up with the storms and keeping everyone happy... I'm beat.

Stay safe!

Ditto!

Anniversary dinner AND a party?? You're a busy girl!!

Was it a group party or a "party" for two :rolleyes1 Happy Anniversary!

Quick question -- by putting "Eat Me" next to the crab in my siggy, am I gonna get in trouble for that?

:rotfl2: I see it's been added! :thumbsup2
