Purpose of the Trip
During the family trip of Dec. 2005, I informed my father of the Food & Wine Festival. Enough said and he was hooked.

We made our way down to Disney World in my parents' RV
100_0300.jpg

We left for Disney World on 11/1. My father likes to travel over half way down and park at a rest stop over night. We would be at Ft. Wilderness first thing in the morning.

Next up Arrival Day :Pinkbounc

I love RV'ing. We have a 44 ft trailer, with 1/2 living quarters and the other 1/2 for our sons moto-cross bikes. It is fun driving and just pulling over and hopping in the sleeping quarters. Some day, I will sell my home and buy one of those RV's like your dads.

I like hearing how people stayed at Fort Wilderness, glad you are posting.

Good morning OhMari and Flafan!!

This is our 2nd trip to Fort Wilderness. We are going back the first week in Jan. for the 1/2 marathon.

Thanks for reading.

sounds great to me too........we are thinking of one of those homes too......retirement is around the corner........its somewhere here I just know it...thanks for the report so far

You guys are travelling in style. I would love to be RVing it. LOL!!

Can't wait read more.

I'm anxious to read about a stay at Ft Wilderness. My DH went to WDW and camped the whole time he was growing up, but I haven't been brave enough to try it.

Hi Pumba, Tammy, and HMHunters!

Thanks for reading!!! :goodvibes

Hi, Lan! I'll be running the 1/2 with you!

We arrived in Orlando around 9am. So my father wanted to go to Camping World and hang out for a while before hitting the property. Now you know I was going crazy walking around a store with all these RV supplies. The funny thing was my cousin and I had watched the movie RV for the first time the night before. So we were walking around the store laughing at different things that reminded us of the movie.

So after about 45 min. we were on our way to

We're at POFQ. I'm running it with my DH. (Actually I should just say were both running it and leave it at that. I am NOT going to try to keep his pace!)

Hope your training is going well; mine is so-so. I'm counting on the fact that I'll be distracted from the pain and discomfort by being at WDW!

My training is going okay, but I will admit that it could be better. I am doing a mile in about 15 miin.

11/2 - Part 2

Once we got everything hooked up, we made our way down to Downtown Disney. It is tradition to eat at Earl of Sandwich. The line was long but moved fast. I had the tuna melt which I just love. Of course I can't remember what the other members of my party had due to me being into my own sandwich :rotfl:

Let me stop here to say this...Gmax, sorry that I didn't get to Downtown Disney early enough to do the dance before they opened. Maybe I will get to do that in January. :woohoo:

After eating, we went to the Christmas Shoppe. I bought my friend a personalized ornament for her baby's first Christmas. I knew to do this early because they usually have a waiting list. I was right. At first I was scheduled to pick up the ornament on 11/3. After the CM searched she found an opening for me to come back on 11/2. Yeah!! I just love the decorations in this place. I also bought my Christmas cards for this year.

Another tradition is going to Goofy's Candy Company. This tradition started last year when we found this place by accident. During my many visits to Downtown Disney, I have never noticed it. I decorated a Mickey's rice krispy treat, my daddy ordered a cookie, and my mother marshmallows. We looked around the other candy and decided to move on before gaining more wait.

Now to Pin Traders for me to feed my addiction. Speaking of addiction, I worked with a client who was abusing drugs. She used on the weekends. Due to her "not using during the week", she told me that she was not an addict but just had an expensive habit. So I am not an addict, I just have an expensive habit. Anywho...once I got in the store, I realized that I needed to activate my annual pass in order to get the passholder only pins.

So off to Guess Services to get the ANNUAL PASS  It took less ths 5 min. from voucher hand off to the real pass. My parents purchased there tickets as well. With anuual pass in hand, back to buy pins. There were running a special where if you bought four pins you could purchase a pirate pin for $1. I did that of course.

I was pulled away from Pin Traders and headed into The World of Disney. My cousin was in heaven of course. I didn't go crazy in here because I knew that I would be back in Jan. My cousin cased the joint and made her list of what she needed to buy as the trip progressed. My father doesn't care for the shopping end of the trip and sat outside to people watch.

I was not happy with my date

We went back to the RV to rest and prepare for dinner. I made ADR for Ohanas at 7:15pm in order to be seated to watch Wishes. My cousin had never seen it before or eaten at Ohanas. My father had a little drink before dinner and we people watched. It was not that crowded. Dinner was good and we had to roll ourselves out of there. Of course we didn't talk as much during dinner because we we were eating.

After dinner, we just went back to the RV. The plan for 11/3 was to get to Epcot before it open to do what we wanted Future World before proceeding to The World Showcase.

Up next: 11/3 - Epcot, Food & Wine Festival, Downtown Disney

I loved your installment. Do you always travel to WDW with your family? Is your cousin a Disney fan too or was she just along for the ride?

I haven't tried Earl of Sandwich yet, maybe next trip. That line always scares me.

I travel to Disney with friends and family. To sum it up..I am riding with whoever is driving that way :teeth:

My cousin is a Disney fan but I top them all.

I'm LATE!!!!! The party has started without me! :sad2:

First let me ask if you put your pics on photobucket, then chose the size? That's how I did it.

Now to the report: Looks like a fun start so far! Sorry you didnt get to Downtown Disney early so you could march around to the Mickey Mouse Club song! Maybe you can do that in January.

I bought an ornament and stand from the Christmas shop, but did not notice the Christmas cards :( Also, I need to check out The Earl of Sandwhich. I've never been there.

So Lan, when are you going in Jan . . . :stir:
