Lan in The Disney Wilderness..Update 11/18

Lan - Yay! Thanks for the update. Do you count running for fastpasses as part of your training? Maybe if they put a fastpass machine every mile on the half marathon we'd really have a reason to keep running!

I think we need to make that suggestion to the Marathon Committee.

Thanks for the luck on the training. Do you want to join me :teeth: ?

I hope to have my review of Ft. Wilderness out before the week is up.

Shhhhhhhhh..........."exercise" is a dirty word in my house. :rotfl:

That roller coaster looks fun! I'll have to find someone to ride with! DH not a ride fan and DD's too small. ;)

HMHunters and I don't think of it as exercise. It is more like training to get to the fastpass machine ASAP :rotfl:

Hi "Jimmy"

I was a good girl and was out training around 6am this morning :rotfl: It is time to step it up a notch. I am walking/running the race. Are u running, walking or combo or each?

My plan is to run 20 minutes / walk 1 minute, or something close to that. I plan on drinking some powerade every 2 miles so I figure I'll walk through that.

I CANNOT drink and run! I just make a big mess and get about 3 drops down my throat. I've got to go get some Clif Shots to try. If those don't work for me I'll carry some Goo. After reading aladdinsgirl's report I'm also going to carry some tissues!

I am going to carry tissue and seat covers. Ha Ha

What type of bag do u use on your runs to hold your items?

I have been training using orange gatorade and snickers marathon bars. I have never tried cliff shots or goo.

Actually, I just put stuff in my pockets. My friend who's a triathlete has a belt that holds your number which has loops to hold gels that she's going to loan me. Other than that, I clip my iPod (and my cell phone) to my shorts. I have several pairs of shorts with pockets. If it's cool outside (50 or colder) I have a vest that I wear which has pockets. I'm only planning on carrying a couple of tissues, chapstick, iPod, cellphone, gel and maybe a ClifBar. I'm relying on Mickey to give me something to drink!

The Day we leave the Magic...11/5

Well it is time to unhook the RV and get back on the turnpike North. It was a quick trip but I found it to be relaxing. I enjoy going to Disney and I have been several times. The time spent at Disney has ranged from 1 day to 7 days. I always make the most of my time in Mouse World.

Now for 11/5 - My father began unhooking the water, sewer, and electricity. In side of the RV, we were making sure that all trash has been gathered, items put away to keep things from rolling around, and making sure that all purchases were accounted for. As we were rolling out of Ft. Wildnerness, I waved good bye. I took a picture of the sign that said "See Ya Real Soon" and thought u will on Jan 4, 2007 for the marathon weekend. I read magaizne and slept most of the way home. After arriving at my parents' house, I still had about an 1 1/2 to get to my home. The trip was fun, but I always feel that it goes by so fast.

My next trip report will cover Jan 4-7, 2007 and me participating in the 1/2 Marathon "Donald Challenge"

My review of Ft. Wilderness

The first time I stayed at Ft. Wilderness was Dec. 2005. We stayed at Site 501. It was right by the bus stop and we liked that. This year Site 501 was taken so we chose Site 506. This is a preferred loop.

We still did not due much exploring like we would of liked due to my schedule :teeth: of wanting to make sure we hit the attractions that we wanted to do.

I give Ft. Wilderness a thumbs up. We found people to be very friendly pixiedust: and the area clean. I love to go around a holiday because of the decorations that some people put up. If you go to Ft. Wilderness, check out the first RV that you come to in the 300 Loop (Not sure if that number is right, but it is right across from the 500 Loop). This RV and surronding area is always decorated. Since Halloween just passed a few days before we got there, they still had their decorations up. This same RV was decorated for Christmas :santa: last year while we were there. So I am figuring they camp for months at a time in Disney. Several people decorate their golf carts as well. We are getting a golf cart :moped: in Jan in order to explore more. We did not have a chance to go to Settlement Depot this time. Last year my sister and I did use the buses in the campground and there were fine. We found them running on a constant basis. We also took the boat :boat: from Magic Kingdom to Ft. Wilderness one night.

They offer movies (shown outside) on a daily basis. You can also meet Chip and Dale before the movie starts at a campfire sing-a-long :rolleyes1 .

Please feel free to ask me any questions. I could of left something out that you may need to know. :scratchin
