Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

I just love this show! I still remember the first time I saw the movie, or at least most of it. Michelle was very little and not very good. I remember being so impressed with the opening scene of the castle. The first time we saw the show was on our Thanksgiving trip in 2002. Danielle was 3 and didn't move for the entire show, she was totally entranced. I think I watched her more than the show.

Brooklynn is the same way. ::yes::

Two things we've never done....Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic! I'm so excited to see both!!!

Beauty and the Beast is coming out on DVD on 10/5....10 days before Madison's birthday!!! That is definately on her birthday list.

$35 for a small mickey blanket - that is a bit steep! Yikes! So great that you got into the show though- I hope you did freeze your butts off.

More lovely pictures - so much detail. I love BATB, too!

Outrageous isn't it! Our bottoms were very cold on those benches, once you sit and get it warm you don't want to move.

I'm glad we caught those two shows. We saw FOTLK, BATB and Fantasmic in one day.

UGH on the bus wait!

It was the worse!

Great updates!! I love Beauty and the Beast and have missed it the last few times we have gone. It is definitely on the list for next time though! You got some great shots! That's great that you went ahead in to see Fantasmic - such a great show! Ugh on that bus wait! :headache:

Uh-oh on that foreshadowing.....:rolleyes1

Sara

Sara you have to go see it with the girls again. Get there early so you can sit up close. I'm glad we went ahead and saw F. I could have skipped it but Dennis and Michelle hadn't seen it since 2007.

Not my best night.

Great pictures from Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic! What a shame it was so cold -- I was almost shivering along with you just from your description. Cute Mardi Gras headbands!

It's not suppose be that cold when you in Disney! Michelle got a kick out of picking those up.

I had to laugh over your Cheerios reference. Chelsea and I just recently discovered Glee and have been hurriedly trying to get through all the episodes before the season premiere. We just watched the Madonna episode which is my favorite one so far!

We are a Glee household. When it first came out I missed the first 2 episodes but insisted on watching it by the third one. Dennis was not a happy camper. By the end of the show we were all hooked. It makes me laugh and cry. Michelle would miss it due to work. After all the talk she bought the first half season when it came out. We spent the weekend watching. The girls watched then again on the drive down, that and Center Stage.

What a pain about the buses! We had a super long line back to CBR one night.

And the worse part was we had a car.

Brooklynn is the same way. ::yes::

Of course our Princesses appreciate greatness.

Please try to fit them in this trip. Madison will love them. Will she get her present before you leave?

We never miss Beauty & the Beast and look forward to seeing it again this trip. But we've only seen Fantasmic once. We have the dining package booked this time, so hopefully there won't be any problem seeing it this time. Your pictures have me getting SO excited!!!

I hope things didn't catch up with you TOO bad!

After the record setting heat we got last year the last weed of September at Disney, I'm looking for cooler temps in December. You DO have me a little nervous though.......

I think your pictures of Fantasmic are great!

Bummer about the bus wait. There's always one (or two) of those every trip, but I still prefer to use Disney transportation than to have to deal with a car.

Is Katie wearing anything special this year?

You should have no problem getting into F with the package. We used it when we went in 2007. I know you'll get some great pictures.

It wasn't pretty.:sad2:

This was the coldest we have every been. We've been at Thanksgiving, after Christmas and another time at Mardi Gras. Cool is nice. . .freezing cold isn't.

Thanks Glenn!

I usually enjoy the transportation and just roll with the punches, but this was over my limit.

You sound like my DH.

Don't want to hijack - but after seeing your mardi gras headbands I have to ask this.......How "Mardi Gras" is a Phantom of the Opera mask? My son told me last night that Prom this year is going to be a Mardi Gras theme, he has a Phantom mask (I forget why:confused3) and has decided that he should wear it to Prom. Granted a bunch of kids who go to school in a cornfield in Central Illinois aren't going to know if it's legit or not....but I am curious.

I did make Katie a new Belle gown for this trip and she'll wear it the for a bit early in the day until we see BATB. She likes the pixiedust we've gotten and the special photo ops they've given us when she goes in costume. Not many girls wear costumes at DHS so it's rather unique. We got to be grand marshals in the parade one year, and last year we got to open the park. This is probably the last year she'll want to go in costume though.

We got lucky in 08 when we went in December. They had freezing cold temps for several weeks before we arrived. A warm front came in right ahead of us and we got to do MVMCP in shorts and t-shirts. It was absolutely perfect.

Now you have me scared for how the rest of your trip went........... Don't keep us waiting too long, OK?????

I’m caught back up. Great job! Love the AK photos from the safari as well as the Fantasmic pics. That’s awesome that you got to meet up with Jordan. I am hoping to time our trip with Peep fest, but worry about it being a little weird for First Lady Biscuit. Looking forward to more.

We will definately be seeing both of those shows. We've already discussed it! She won't get any birthday gifts until her actual birthday (this trip is a BIG part of her present!).

I don't know how exactly they came into play. Masks in general are associated with Mardi Gras. Way back when, before parades their was kind of a party in the street in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. All kinds of people participated and it was kind of like a huge masquerade ball in the streets. I know it all sounds weird, but fun.

Katie is the luckiest girl. I can't wait to see your pictures. Hopefully it will be just the right temp.

Hopefully I'll get another update in Friday night. Tonight is catch up and tomorrow in Open House and Football. The Saints are playing. Michelle is going to be in Jackson Square for the concert before the game. Their going to on a balcony so if anyone is watching look for her. She made a poster but I didn't get to see if before she left.

Meeting Jordan was the highlight of my trip. I would love to go to Peep fest too. The girls would have no problem, but DH would need some help.

Just checking in!!!!!

Evening Rosie!:wave2:

I  WDWs F! The arena is so nice and big. Great update! I haven't seen the Beauty and the Beast show but now I really want to.

Being a huge football fan (GO Giants! Sorry.) and an even bigger Dave Matthews Band fan, I am sooooo jealous of your daughter! Wish I was in the Big Easy tonight!:yay:

You need to see Beauty and the Beast at least once. The movie is shortened to a 30 minute show, but still Magical.

She called last night so we could hear Taylor Swift's sound check. The excitement was already building.

On the morning news show this morning they were saying that City Hall was closing early, lots of businesses and the schools. There is going to be a parade too. No one parties like the Big Easy. Everything shut down early for the parade to welcome them home too. After all this I hope they come out with a win.

And you're forgiven for being a Giants fan.

So, we were finally on our way back to POFQ. Since we had hit the early showing of Fantasmic it was actually pretty early. Good thing because that would give us some time to play around and do some laundry. Danielle and I were in desperate need of clean jeans. We were out! Michelle has so many clothes there was no way she was going to run out and Dennis had stoked up before we left. I honestly didn't think it was going to be this cold. I can't wear jeans to work so I only have a few pairs to wear on the weekends. Danielle wears uniforms to school so she only had a few pairs too.

It's time for some background information and I hope I don't bore you too much. I know I've said over and over I don't do round and round. I can't do round and round. For as long as I can remember I've had an equilibrium problem. As a young child I had lots of ear infections and dizzy spells. The kind that knock you flat on your back. I have to lie on my back and not move or I'll toss. My head spins out of control. I never knew when I would get one either. When I was in 4th grade I had tubes put in and it got better. I didn't have a bad attack until I was in high school. But no matter what I still can't do anything that might mess with my balance. If I walk in a sideways room at a fun house I'll get a little dizzy. Anyway over the years I've had a few attacks they are usually few and far between. As the years have passed at times I'll fell a little off center, not a full blown attack and if I take some sinus meds I can usually ward them off. I never had problems with this at Disney until 2007. On our third day of park touring we went back to the resort for a break. When I went to get up I was off balance and felt dizzy. I took some sinus meds and laid back down. When I got back up a little latter I was good to go. After that I started taking sinus meds everyday to prevent the junk in my head from getting too messed up. I worked for the rest of that trip and the one in 2009. I was again doing that this trip. It was working until this night. I guess my age is catching up to me too. I didn't feel well after Space Mountain the night before and after Everest. At some point that night my ears starting ringing or roaring. I've heard it called both by different people. By the time we got back to the resort I couldn't ignor it anymore. But I didn't have time to be sick.

This is the only picture I have from this night. The closest thing to a towel animal we got the entire trip.

I'm not a complainer so I didn't say anything to anyone. We got back to the room and I started gathering dirty clothes. Dennis helped me carry them to the laundry room. It was pretty crowded but there were still machines open. We loaded up then headed to the lobby with Danielle. We hadn't eaten and Danielle wanted to use the card that came with the package in the game room. By this point I had a headache and my stomach was turning. I thought maybe some food would help. I hadn't eaten since lunch at Yak & Yeti and it was almost 9. I don't remember what Dennis got but I got some Gumbo. We sat down and I tried to eat but I couldn't. At this point I had to tell Dennis how bad I was feeling and I needed to get back to the room before something came back up. I left him with Danielle and went back to the room. I turned on "Lost" (love that show) and laid down hoping it would help. I hope I don't gross too many people out, but you know when you reach that point where you know it would just be better if you could just hurl? You know that you would feel better if you did, but you really don't want to. Yeah, well I hit that point and eventually my body got the release it wanted. At some point Dennis changed the clothes over for me. He entertained Danielle. They had a blast because he's a big kid too. The lucky part was something was wrong with the machine so the guy running things had everything set on free. They could play whatever they wanted and it didn't cost a dime. So yes I still have that card for free play. I would like to say that I was able to just go to sleep and get passed my sickness, but I can't. Dennis had taken some advil pm earlier and it was kicking in. He was ready for bed and so was everyone else so guess who had to drag themselves back down to the laundryroom by themselves to finish the laundry? If you guess me your right. I also had to haul the clothes back up the room too. By the time I finished everyone was well on their way to dreamland. And sleep was what we all needed since we had a 7:15 a.m. breakfast at Chef Mickeys.

So do we make our breakfast? And how did I feel the next day?

Oh, that stinks that you had an attack while on vacation! Too bad you weren't just able to lay down and fall asleep, but had to deal with the laundry. I hope you felt better the next morning! Being sick on vacation is the absolute worst thing, I think.
