Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

that totally stinks. can't believe you had to hurl and then go fold laundry. That is a major bummer. Darn Tylenol pm - what was he thinking....of course he was ready to sleep?

At least you were feeling better! sorry you got sick! I hate being sick away from home, but can you do?

Oh man, that IS a bummer! I'm hoping it was better by the morning! 7:15???:scared1:

(Love LOST too and am so sad I don't have it to watch this year...:sad1:)

Sara

Oh no!

I do know EXACTLY what you mean though. But UGH, having to get back up after all that for laundry and a 7:15 breakfast????????????????????????

:grouphug:

You poor thing, no matter what, it's all UGH!

Oh, that stinks that you had an attack while on vacation! Too bad you weren't just able to lay down and fall asleep, but had to deal with the laundry. I hope you felt better the next morning! Being sick on vacation is the absolute worst thing, I think.

It was not a fun or relaxing night. I should have spoke up sooner. Dennis had already taken his meds before he knew how bad I felt.

At least I felt better after the hurl, but I really just wanted to go to bed. The fact that I needed some jeans for the next day helped me keep going.

Sara

You'll have to wait to find out.;)

Lost was my addiction! I was the only one in the family watching it. I would lock myself in my bedroom and threaten anyone who invaded my space. I'm going to really miss it, but it does give me more time for doing other things like Dising.

Totally agree!

Being sick on a Disney trip is not allowed!!!

I am hoping you made breakfast, but a 7:15 ADR after a sick night...I am not sure you did.

I've been very lucky in the sickness department. We've never had a trip where anyone got really sick or passed a sickness around. There's no crying in Disney and no getting sick.

Again I just want to do a little recap at the end of each day.

This was our split day between AK and DHS. Originally it was going to be another rope drop but due to our late night at MK we slept in a little. Michelle slept in a lot and almost lunch at Yak & Yeti and the most delicious Mango Pie. I'm happy to report this was the only day she slept in and met us later on the entire trip (a big feat for her). It was also the coldest day of our trip. It was so cold we even skipped taking pictures. Overall we did a lot in AK but not much in DHS. The original plan was to leave soon after lunch, but I ended up dragging Dennis out after 4. The highlight for me was my very first Dis Meet with Jordan! He was great and wish we could have spent more time with him. Danielle still thinks he's a rock star or something. AK wasn't too bad as far as crowds but DHS was mobbed. We did get some treats, we saw Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic. We missed meeting Elizabeth and we had a horrible time waiting for our bus ride back to the resort that night. We actually had a fairly early night which gave us some time to do some stuff at the resort. I did laundry and Dennis and Danielle played games. I forgot to mention that when we first got back Dennis and the girls went to the Concierge Desk for a map of the area. We needed it to drive to Chef Mickey's the next morning and from there to Epcot. The girls also walked away with candy necklaces. Don't you just love the extra touches? Of course I did spend the night sick.

I think that about covers it.

Up Next hopefully a breakfast at Chef Mickey's and our second and final touring day at Epcot.

Oh man, I'm sorry to read that you got sick! Nobody wants to be sick at Disney! Hopefully alll will be well in time for Chef Mickey's.

Today's plan included at 7:15 ADR at Chef Mickey's and then off to Epcot for us. Jada and Lauren were planning to hit DHS after breakfast. They had a dinner ADR at Mama Melrosa's. Since Jada was leaving on Friday this would be her full day at DHS. We had a 5:00 ADR at Teppan Edo. For us we wanted to hit the stuff we missed on our first day at Epcot and the major rides again. Jada and Lauren were going to try for Toy Story Mania and other attractions at DHS.

Before we split up on Tuesday we had decided that due to our early breakfast we would drive to Chef Mickey's and then onto Epcot. Jada was going to get a taxi since she didn't have a car and meet us there. From the Contemporary she could use their buses to get to DHS.

Now the question is how did things actually work out?

We had to get up really early to make it to our breakfast. You may ask why would she plan such an early breakfast? After our trip in 2009 the only 2 places Danielle said she wanted to do on our next trip was Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Fare. We had skipped Chef Mickey's in 2009. We had done the breakfast and the dinner once and decided we much preferred the breakfast offerings to dinner. When we sat down to book everything this was the only breakfast that was offered. I booked it and tried over and over to rebook for another time. I tried using the online system and calling right up until we left but never had any success. I even booked a back up breakfast for just the 4 of us at Crystal Place on our last park day in case we didn't make this breakfast.

Well we did it! We got up and made it out on time and didn't even get lost. We did check in a little late since Jada and Lauren were running late. Since we were pretty much part of the first set of seating and really didn't matter. Within minutes of checking in they called us to take our picture. Normally I buy the pictures, but not this one. We all looked horrible! It was just way to early for everyone. We were seated almost right away. We were right by the set of doors the character went in and out of. The character weren't anywhere near out table so everyone was able to grab some food and start eating before they got to us. I'm not going to say I'm the best Catholic but I do try. Since yesterday was Mardi Gras, today was Ash Wednesday. No I didn't make it to Mass but I did make a concerned effort when planning our breakfast and dinner. No meat for me. I couldn't do the just one meal for the day. I have to eat while in Disney or I just don't have the energy to go and remember I hadn't eaten since lunch the day before and lost whatever was left in my belly the night before. I was good and stayed away for the bacon. I can't say the same for my other family members. Here's a picture of Michelle's plate. She wanted a picture of the Mickey waffles.

This breakfast was a first for Jada and Lauren. This was another place I was very happy to be sharing with them for the first time.

Our first character was Goofy.

Then it was time to twirl our napkins.

Even Dennis got into it!

And the characters.

Our next character was Donald.

The Big Cheese!

More to Come!

Lovely Minnie!

And Pluto the best character of all. We had the best interaction with him. He made Michelle get up and take a picture.

Not too long after visiting with the character we were ready to leave. Our service hadn't been too good but it wasn't horrible. Since we were a party of 6 gratuity had been added. Jada refused to pay it since she felt the service was bad. We ended up making up the difference. Our receipt shows 8:05 for when our ticket was processed so we were making pretty good time. Of course everyone had to make a restroom stop as we walked out. Being a little more awake now I took some pictures.

Jada informed us over breakfast that they would not being going to DHS. Lauren wanted to ride Soarin' and Test Track so they would follow us to Epcot until around lunchtime. I explained that this would mean they would miss out on Toy Story Mania. Lauren was fine with that, but they still needed to go over there for their dinner. Up until this point things had gone okay but to be honest we were looking forward to it being just the 4 of us. Our touring plans had to be altered when we had Jada and Lauren. When we planned to the trip we knew we would have one day at Epcot, DHS and MK for just the 4 of us.

We sent Jada us to catch the monorail so she could make her way over to Epcot we went to the parking lot to find our car. Within in minutes we were back at the resort. French Quarter really is close to just about everything! We went back to the room changed out a few things and headed back out. Now should we drive to Epcot, something we had never done? or take the bus? After our horrible wait the night before what do you think we did?

My challenge wouldn't be getting there by that time (although I'm sure I'd only have a partial crew) but I wouldn't be very hungry that early!

You guys looked like you did pretty well at that hour!

Oh, this sounds terrible but I'm sorry your "just the 4 of you" day got altered. it is wonderful to travel with others but sometimes you want it to be, just you. I hope it worked out ok.

Scared about the bus/car thing though!

Wow! I am impressed you had everyone up and at Chef Mickey's so early! I don't know if I would have done as well! Love all the pictures especially the ones with Pluto! I am sorry your plans were altered -- sometimes it is nice to just be the four of you. I am going to guess you drove to Epcot after the bus situation the day before.

You really did get some great Chef Mickey's pics!! :thumbsup2 And everyone looks way more awake than my crew would at that hour!

I totally understand about the frustration over people changing their plans and then the "planner" having to alter her plans for others.....sigh...I hope it worked out for ya!

That Mickey waffle looks SO good right now!! :)

Sara

What a trooper you are! After that rough night, you got up and made it to your Chef Mickey's ADR. Apparently you were feeling well enough by that point.

(Confession time: I've never done Chef Mickey's.)

I love this picture:

The girls had eaten early and I really hadn't eaten the night before so we all did okay. Of Dennis can always eat.

We did much better once we started eating. Our group picture showed how really tired we all were.

I'm a planner but I can be flexible. When in Disney you have to roll with the punches.

I like you guess!:thumbsup2

Pluto really was the most fun.

I'm surprised we made it too. It's really great when people change their plans and don't ask you if it's okay with you especially when it effects you. Not even if you don't mind.

I could eat Mickey waffles everyday!

I love this picture:

I recover fast! I've learned that if I keep going than everyone else follows along. If mom can do it than you can do it. I have a can do attitude for the most part.

Even though I don't think Chef Mickey's is the bees knees, I do think you should try it at least once. It's so cool to eat and have the monorail pass right over your head. The first time we ate there we were seated where we could watch it pass.

After filling our bellies at Chef Mickeys we sent Jada and Lauren off the the TTC to catch a Monorail to Epcot. We went back to French Quarter since is was sooooo close and traded out a few things. Now how do we get to Epcot? We could take the buses like we always do or try something new and drive. For once Dennis caved and we drove! This was our very first time to drive to a park. I was thrilled.

I had to take this on the way in.

And this.

It was still really early so we got a parking spot by the monorail tracks. I have to admit I was really worried about finding our car when we left. I have a terrible sense of direction. Hopefully between the 4 of us we would find it. We were in line to enter at 8:40! We were making pretty good time.

Although I was felling better I didn't want to push my luck again. Dennis, Danielle and Michelle went on Soarin' sand by while I grabbed 4 fps. We hadn't meet back up with Jada yet so I didn't have their tickets. While waiting for Dennis and the girls Jada and Lauren caught up with me. Lauren wanted to do Soarin', Test Track and the Turtle Talk again. I sent them onto Turtle Talk to get that out of the way. We made plans to meet up at Innoventions. One of the things we missed out on our first Epcot day. When Dennis and the girls got off Soarin' we jumped in line for the Land. I didn't take any pictures this time a round but Danielle took plenty.

Sorry for the sideways photos I fixed them in photobucket but it didn't work.

We headed out of the Land and into Innoventions.

Continued...

Once in Innoventions Jada needed another smoke break. I took our tickets and went to get Fps for Test Track and Dennis took all three girls to play. The first thing they did was the video game set up.

I made it back in time to see their video games. It was so funny and they had a blast doing it. Michelle and Danielle emailed them back home. Michelle's made it but Danielle's didn't. I think she made a mistake on the email address. We called Jada and told her to come meet us. We wanted to do "Where's the Fire?" Danielle and I did this for the first time in 2007 while Dennis and Michelle were riding Mission Space. We even won Dream lanyards and pins. Since then it's a "can't miss" attraction. We split up with Jada, Lauren and I on one team and Dennis, Michelle and Danielle on the other. At the last minute a few other people joined us. I don't remember who was the Searchmores and who was the Findmores but in the end we WON! And believe me it wasn't anything we did, it had to be the other people with us. We couldn't work together for nothing. These attraction is all about teamwork. We played around the fire area for a while. We took a family picture by the firetruck and emailed it back home. I must have deleted it because I can't find it.

It was now past time to use the Soarin' FPs. I sent Lauren on the ride with my FPs. Jada went to take another break and I went exploring.

It lead me here.

I looked around for a while and picked up a few things but when I went to get in line it was way too long with not nearly enough registers open so I left empty handed. I had told the others to meet me outside the Imagination Pavillion.

After checking out Jordan's favorite restrooms and finding them clean and empty, I sat down to wait. I took out my trip report notebook and wrote what we had so far that morning. I'm very sad to say this was the very last time I wrote in the notebook so from this point on it will be by memory and looking at pictures, so basically it will be hit or miss.

When I saw Dennis and girls making their way over I called Jada and told her to get her bottom over ASAP. Believe it or not there was a line out the door for "Journey into Imagination". Although Danielle does not like this ride we were going to do it. Jada and Lauren had never ridden it. Of course in Danielle's mind she had reasons for not wanting to ride. She hates the part where you get sprayed by the smell. In 2006 we rode it right before visiting Captain Hook and she swears he motioned to her that she stunk. I personally don't remember that. He did pick on her because she wouldn't go up to him and I had to bring the autograph book up to him and take the picture. I do admit that the smell thing gets me every time. Of course we had to play around after we got off. Michelle and I found our way into the photo booth and had a blast. We started off with a normal picture than decided to get sillier.

We were laughing so hard when we got off. Danielle had to purchase her favorite treat before we walked out. She loves the crystal rock candy on a stick.

It was now time to ride Test Track. The last ride Lauren required to ride before they would head off to DHS. Of course Jada took off to take a break while we did this. We had decided we would take our picture looking scared. It came out pretty good except Lauren didn't really get into it.

We met back up with Jada and she asked if we wanted to go grab some food before she left. At this point we weren't really hungry but we were tired and ready for some just us time. We sent them off and headed towards Universe of Energy. I have ridden this twice and can't tell you what happens once the actual ride starts. I always fall asleep. It does make for a really good napping ride. Along the way Dennis tried once more to get someone to ride Mission Space with him. Although Michelle had humored him our first day she had had enough. He loves this ride but he's the only one who does. By this point he was pouting and needed a nap too. I can not tell you how disappointed we were when we got there and found out the ride was down and they didn't know when it was going to be back up! What! You've got to be kidding! So what are we going to do now? Should we go back to the resort and take a break or just try to make it and keep going?

I love the land boat ride !!So far the family hasn't done it but I make it everytime I can!!!
I really do have to try some character breakfasts agin but my crew does NOT want to hear about an 8 a.m ressie !!!
