Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

More Trex pictures.
Don't you just love those pictures when you hold the camera up and hope you got everyone's head in it?

After looking around the outside of Trex and getting the lay of the land we headed across the bridge to what use be Pleasure Island. Our first stop was the Harley-Davidson store. Danielle and Dennis couldn't resist trying our the bikes.

After that there wasn't really anything else we wanted to see on this section. We took another bathroom break before entering the West Side.

I have to say the Westside is fairly deserted compared to the Market Place side. Michelle and I checked out the Miss-match store and Mickey's grove while Dennis took these pictures with Danielle near Planet Hollywood.

You can see the necklace Dennis bought Danielle in this shot.

We poked our head into just about every store as we kept walking. We couldn't skip the Candy Cauldron.

YUM!

Just a few more shots of the Westside to come!

I just love DTD! :)

Oh boy..you guys got pics on one of the bikes Fiance was drooling over. :rotfl:

Love all the pictures! Looks like you guys are having an awesome time by this point. :thumbsup2 I wish I had your strength to look and not buy everything in DTD!!! :rotfl:

We just kept telling ourselves we would be back...but would we?

Normally we hit DTD right before we head home.

Great update(:
Does Danielle's necklace say her name&is it silver? If it does, I have the same one, I got it our last trip- in April. But, it says "Sara" haha

That's the one! Of course she's only worn it once since we got back. Disney stuff is only worn at Disney in her book. I wear my stuff all the time.

Ok I'll try. Remind me on my PTR when it gets closer to my trip! :)

I need to head over there especially since you're almost finished with your current trip report. Give me a couple of days to get caught up. I have this annoying habit of having to read everything before I post.

When last I left off we were on a mission to go from one end of DTD to the other. After looking at the sweets in the Candy Cauldron we decided it was time to take a break and sit for a while and people watch.

A few more pictures of the West Side.

We had seen and done everything we wanted so it was time to start walking back towards Trex. Of course it was too early to check in and we were still waiting on Jada and Lauren to get there. We decided to hang out around the general area of Trex.

By this time we were getting tired and winding down. We have never spent this much time in DTD in one day. Danielle and Dennis wanted to play around in the Lego store, but Michelle and I just wanted to sit. We picked an outside table by the McDonald's. I sure hope no one got sleeping pictures of me because I did put my head down for a little while. It wasn't too long until we were entertained by a squirrel. He was the cutest thing and not shy at all. A family had sat down with food at the table next to us. He jumped up on their table and begged for food. They gave him a fry to start off with. Of course he wasn't happy with just one and begged for more. When he didn't get one he was bold enough to grab it for himself. After the family gave him some more he got even bolder. He went as far as to enter the father's jacket pocket looking for food. We thought it was so cute.

Once Danielle and Dennis made it back to us we started calling Jada. Her plane had landed and she was on the ME headed to All Star Sports. We were going to be cutting it real close with her making it there in time for our 5:00 ADR. We walked over to the stage area to watch a group of kids performing. I wish I had taken pictures but I was so nervous about Jada's arrival. She would be coming to meet us and she had only been to DTD once back in 2004, she also doesn't have the best sense of direction. We traded phone calls back and forth while we watched the performers. I have to say Jada and Lauren were the luckiest people on this trip. They got small Magical Moments during their entire stay. When she checked in she was the "Family of the Day" they wanted to take her picture and give her balloons. All she wanted to do was check in and catch the bus to DTD. Once she was on her way we walked back to Trex. We checked in and was told to get in the seating line right away. Other people who didn't have an ADR were told to wait until they were called. I gave Jada directions of where to meet us once she got off the bus as best I could. Before long it was our turn to be seated. I told the hostess not all of our party was there and she said no problem. Honestly we didn't have a problem the entire week if we checked in and didn't have everyone with us. I know in the past we were always told you had to have your entire party. We were amazed as we walked through on the way to our table. We were seated in the Ice Cave area. It was blue when we got there but changed colors to red after a while. We also had a good view of the meteor shower. Not too long after we were seated Jada called to say she was making her way to us. I went out to meet her so she wouldn't get too confused when she came up on the construction area. After ordering I finally got up to take a look around.

A few pictures with people in them.

More to come!

Our drinks came.

The girls loved their drinks.

Dennis loved his adult beverage.

While waiting for the food I went to the restroom with the girls and took a walk around for more pictures. I don't normally take pictures of bathrooms but I thought this was neat.

This was on the wall inside the restroom.

Right outside the restroom area.

Assorted bugs and dinos!

Still more to come!

The girls were so scared!

I don't remember what we ate and I don't have the receipt. Somehow Dennis ended up with it and it's not in my ziplock of receipts. I know it wasn't cheap and we paid OOP since they aren't on the dining plan but it was a big hit with our group. It was VERY LOUD, but everyone still had a great time. The girls thought it was the coolest place we ate at on our trip and it's a must do. That makes it real hard since we like Hard Rock and Rainforest and I still want to try the Irish place. So many places and so little time. After dinner we had to do the Build a Dino with Danielle and Lauren. We asked Michelle is she wanted to do it too and she thought real hard about it. But in the end she said no, she didn't want that to be the souvy we bought her from this trip.

Before they stuffed the dinos.

If you've ever done Build a Bear than you know what this would be like too. We bought Danielle's dino but she used some of her own money to get it some clothes.

After we finished the dinos it was time to head out.

Jada and Lauren were headed back to finally get settled into their room. We would meet up in the morning for our day at Epcot. Our original plan was to head to the Magic Kingdom for a little while. But by now we were really tired and it was really cold. We decided to head back to our room and rest up for the next day. We skipped the boat since it was so cold and headed for the bus stop.

I had read up a lot about the bus system for POFQ and my only real concern was taking the bus back from DTD. It took a very long time to get back. First we had to stop on the West Side then we had to make all the stops in PORS. This was the only time that we had to go through this but it took forever, I really wondered is maybe we should have just braved the cold and took the boat.

Once we got back to the resort we headed into the food area and bought mugs to use for the trip. On our last trip we didn't buy the mugs since the dinning plan gives you a drink with each meal and we were pretty far away from the food court at POP. Since were so close we felt it would be worth it this time. Of course we had to stop in the shop too. Michelle's hairspray had been used totally us when another bag rubbed against it in the trunk. So we looked around and although we were good at DTD we weren't good here. Dennis ended up getting a Donald pullover sweatshirt (he wanted Grumpy but they didn't have his size), we got Michelle a blue scarf since she didn't get something at DTD and I got the travel bag that was $12.95 if you spent at least $50. I have a real hard time passing up those kind of deals. If Dennis wasn't with me I would have gotten the backpack they were offering at Epcot too. Purchases in hand we went back to our room to prepare for our first real park day!

My boys and I were just getting caught up and they LOVED your write up on TREX! We went in 09 and will be going again this January and they said "We MUST do the Build a Dino!" I love all the pictures you took!!! A friend of mine stayed at Pop last year and it took her almost an hour to get home from DTD! I don't know why but I always hear the worst bus stories about DTD! I am glad we have the boat!!

I'm so glad y'all enjoyed the pictures. I was afraid I had used too many. There is so much to see in there. The girls loved Build a Dino, and it's not girly at all. The boat would have been much faster but we were so cold.

We really liked T-Rex, but it was really noisy. We sat right next to the Wooly Mammoths and I kind of felt like we were seated in a walkway. Madison did the Build-A-Dino and the dino she picked was really cute. She still sleeps with it every night. I'm loving all the pictures!

Hm...your pics make me think that T-Rex is just a different version of Rainforest Cafe. Is that the same feeling you got? It does look neat in there though for those who love dinosaurs and all that!

Hi again. Great update! Your pics make me want to try T-Rex but I'm not sure that it will be in the budget. I thought about doing the build a dino last year even though we didn't eat there but I wanted a Tigger more. :upsidedow
I like Danielle's backpack. I am a total Vera Bradley fan. I have the large backpack in peacock. I also have a few other styles and colors.

I was loud in there! We were seated off the beaten path. Danielle's has become just one of many stuffed animals in her room. One of the downfalls of getting older.:sad2:

Same company, so yes very similar. The kids loved it and I would think little boys would go nuts if they like dinos. Does your little guy like Dinosaurs? Brent loved them when he was little.
