Ladies - what's your park style?

The one and only time I was ever in DL, I noticed that the women guests in the parks seemed to be dressed better/less casual than what I'm used to seeing at WDW. Maybe it's the nicer temps and lack of humidity? (I was there in late June). Maybe it's the abundance of locals who aren't limited to what they could jam in a suitcase?

At WDW I see mostly tank tops or tshirts and cargo shorts or in cooler months maybe yoga pants and a hoodie. Lots of families and groups wearing matching neon t-shirts... What I recall from DL were a lot of women who looked like they were dressed for a day out. They were dressed nicely in sun dresses and sandals or cute summer shorts outfits - more like a day out than a park day... Nary a croc in sight.

How do you DL? What is your typical park uniform? Are you going for comfort or style or something in between?

Do you wear make-up and fix your hair so that you look good in pics or are you sporting a baseball cap and ponytail and hiding behind sun glasses and a smile?

I usually wear capris and a t-shirt. I like to cover up as much as possible to limit sun exposure. I do wear make-up as it adds another layer of protection and I don't want to see our pics later and think "ughh". In FL I have given up on my hair due to the humidity and usually end up in a pony or wearing a hat by lunchtime. Pics have to be early!!!! For shoes I go for comfort and air circulation. I rotate between Keens sandals and Reef flip flops as I have found that I can walk in either all day.

I go for comfort. If we go during cooler months, it's jeans, tshirt, sweatshirt. Warmer months, capris & tshirts.

I do put on makeup and I do my hair. It's a personal preference- I do the same at home - I just feel more put together.

For me it's capris and t-shirts. Then a hoodie for warmt in the early morning and evening. My hair is wash and go, no makeup. Just like at home, lol! :flower1:

I think it's this. If I'm going for a few hours, I'm not worried about being comfortable for the whole day like I am in WDW. And since I live here, I can dress for the weather that day instead of what I hope it will be in a week. So I don't have a set outfit. Instead of the jeans/shorts and tshirt in WDW, I can wear a flannel or sweater or something slightly nicer that I'm not worried about being uncomfortable in for long periods of time in.

A lot of people here come for a few hours before or after work so they're just wearing what they wore that day. They're not wearing "park clothes."

I try to doll myself up with color and jewelry and lipstick for whatever season it is -- I really do. A day at DLR is a festive day for me and I add to my own happiness by dressing in a festive way. Christmas gets red sweaters. Summer gets bright skorts, shirts and matching hats. There's always a touch of bling. Party time! (And I try to get DH to kinda color coordinate -- just so the pictures turn out a little bit better.) All of it has to be comfy though and easy on the feet.

I'm a jeans/capris and a t-shirt girl most of the time anyway and I have my fair share of Disney shirts so that's what my park style is also. I have problems with my feet and legs so I can only wear tennis shoes or walking sandals. I see people in high heel boots or stiletto sandals and just think "I wouldn't be able to walk for the rest of the month if I did that". Lucky them if they can.

We take tons of pictures with characters while we're there and whatever I look like is what I look like. I guess I generally look ok because our pictures turn out cute for the most part. :)

We're about an hour away, so semi-local and we try to go once a month but it's enough a drive that we generally stay all day so comfort is key and layers in the winter.

We are not locals, but we typically dress nice for the park. I usually wear dresses (sometimes skirts) with mary janes or flat boots. Many times my dresses are 50's inspired. We like to Disneybound. I wear makeup, though my hair is usually pulled back (sometimes in a snood, bun or braid, but also sometimes just in a ponytail). My girls usually wear dresses with comfortable shoes (boots or sneakers).

Sometimes we go casual, but usually with a theme. For example, we were there for Winnie the Pooh day and wore matching homemade Pooh face shirts - that was fun, too. Our shirts actually got us chosen for a Winnie the Pooh scavenger hunt in Critter Country (which my Pooh-loving middle child adored).

I like to sport coordinating ears and I do a ponytail or braid. I tend to try to wear something fun or festive and make a point of wearing jewelry. I wear comfortable shoes since I will be on my feet almost all day. I try to get my husband to wear something matchy from time to time. And on occasion I will Disneybound because it's fun. Basically, I love a theme! We aren't local but we live in Cali and can make it down a few times a year.

I've been reading about Disneybounding and looking at ideas on Pinterest. My SIL and I have decided to try it one day on our upcoming trip. I've got a cute orange tshirt and a thin black cardigan with blue capris - just need to find a green hat or scarf for my hair.

I don't dress up, but I don't really do so in my daily life either. Usually jeans/shorts and a t-shirt with running shoes. I don't wear makeup (but I don't in my daily life either), and I try to make my hair decent but it's an exercise in futility since I go on rides. I've never felt out of place dressing casually at the parks. When we had dinner planned in SH55 or Napa Rose I'd pack nice clothes and change beforehand.

I go for comfort! I always wear a Disney t-shirt, but have often worn adidas swishy pants into the park because they are comfortable and water resistant.

We enjoy it. My advice would be to not be surprised if nobody catches on to it. Just do it to enjoy yourself. Goofy is one that might get you recognized, though. We did a Fab Five+ group bound last year (Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto) and my dad got recognized with just jeans, an orange shirt and green baseball cap while he was waiting for us to get off the teacups ride. It's always so fun when someone does recognize you though. My Grumpy (we did a Snow White theme) bound last week got me recognized as Gaston...I guess a brown skirt, brown boots, red shirt (untucked) with a black belt could work for him, too! (I did have a dwarf-themed hair bow, but I guess it wasn't obvious enough.)

If I go during the summer I like to wear a cutesy Disney dress. If I go during a colder time I usually wear thick leggings or jeans with a high top sneaker and a Disney themed shirt (usually a hoodie if I need it). I am one of those people who doesn't really feel right without having some sort of makeup on before venturing in public, so I typically just do my normal "face." My hair starts down and then goes into a ponytail from being messy from running around and rides.

It depends on the weather but I dress about the same as I would at home. If it's hot I wear shorts and a tank top, or a casual dress, and I pretty much live in flip flops! If it's cooler then a pair of leggings and a casual shirt/hoodie. I always do my hair and makeup (although now that I have a kid who knows if that will be the case when we go back haha!)

I'm a comfort girl. This year I'll be wearing some leggings and long shirts and shorts and tanks. And yeah, they're gonna be paired with ugly comfortable walking sneaks (or flip flops because my toes hate foot prisons). I figure if someone has a problem with how I look that's their problem not mine!

I wear makeup and decent casual clothes (usually with some kind of nod to Disney on the top), but I don't do much with my hair - it is very curly, and blowing it straight is a losing battle at Disney, because if it gets the slightest bit wet, it curls. If there's humidity, it frizzes. So I just let it do its own thing and rely on my Mickey ears to contain it.

That said, I contend that anyone who spends a whole day at Disney and emerges still looking good is doing it wrong!

Yes, as a local I wear slightly nicer clothes than I would on vacation. Since I have free photos I always make sure me and the kid have brushed hair. Make up for me. Usually Disney attire, sometimes Disneybounding for special occasions (Halloween).

I am local and try to go about once a week. Jeans or capris and a Disney t or sweatshirt. It is all about comfort. I have bad feet with three previous feet surgeries so feet comfort as well. Minimal makeup and hair too. Just enough to feel comfortable.

I also observe the same with others as well. People look like they are there to enjoy themselves, which is the whole point. Love all the disneybounding and Dapering I see others participating in weekly.

Foot prisons! :rotfl2: My feet agree with yours.
