Ladies...What do YOU wear to the parks?

This is the million dollar question for me right now. I've gained a bit (lot) of weight over the past few years and I am slowly (but surely) taking it off. I've been living in maxi skirts and tanks all summer at work because they have the fold over band which has been helpful in taking me through my weight loss. I don't want to wear these in the park because of the dreaded chub rub (even with the thigh glide stuff it still hurts like crazy) but I dispise shorts. I am tempted to wear my workout crops but I'm still quite fluffy and don't like material that tight showing all my lumps and bumps in public (except the gym). So I have no idea. Because I am losing weight, I also don't want to invest any money into anything new either, because it definitely won't fit me next summer.

I'd love to look good in pictures but realistically, I have a 6 and 4yo I will be running after. I'll be a hot sweaty mess. At this point I'm not too worried about looking fab. I just want to be comforatble and somewhat presentable.

I'm in a similar position -- have lost about 50 pounds in the last 5 months and hope to lose another 10-15 before our trip -- which means NOTHING fits right now and I have no idea what size I will be wearing at the end of October. I'm going the workout leggings route with a looser/longer tunic type tank top that way I feel like I will be appropriately covered....and I've found they are on sale right now (Old Navy had tanks for $7 and workout leggings for $15 last weekend) and because of the spandex they will fit for longer so I don't mind spending the money on them! I also think a lot of the workout outfits that are out right now are just as stylish looking as wearing jeans and a t-shirt so I don't think I'm going to look back on pictures and feel badly about what I was wearing (I'm also of the mindset that I am more concerned with the experience than whether I look crazy in pictures, but I understand others don't feel that way and that's okay too :)

I don't have any problems in the sun dresses I wear (knee length or slightly shorter). I do wear bike shorts underneat to avoid accidental flashing.

Isn't that HOT? I've never worn shorts under a dress before.

I found some of the old navy work out tanks for $3 last weekend. I bought about 4 for the trip.

5 pages and not a single mention of my newest favorite - something called Sparkle Skirts. They are made for running (which I do in them), but they're also great for theme parking since they have pockets on the legs of the under shorts as well as a zippered pocket in the waistband. No bag check for me! www.sparkleskirts.com

Otherwise I'm a shorts and tank or "nicer" tee sort of person. And always socks and sneakers. Sometimes my Ecco sandals if we're headed back to a park for an evening and not a super long time.

A light sweater or sweatshirt is good for evenings!

I'll be sporting my Sparkle Skirts at the Halloween party, at least! I'm thinking either a Snow White or an Ariel inspired look.

I was there last week of Oct 2014 and wore sleeveless shirts and skirts all week. CM were freaking it went into high 40s at night because it was unusual for that time of year, so don't expect it to be that cool when you go. It was chilly waiting for buses in the morning, but by the time I exited my first ride of the day, and I rope drop, it was full blown summer in the high 80s to low 90s with humidity and the warmth lasted after the sun fell, I didn't need a jacket at night. Considering I live in PA and it was all day 40s to 50s for us by then, it was quite the culture shock to face the heat so I was very happy to have summer clothes.

Shoes are always FitFlops now. For me to wear a fully foot covering shoe, it would have to be below 65 all day long. My feet get really hot which overheats the rest of me.

Usually a white sleeveless shirt of some sort and shorts. We normally go in the summer months but in 2014 we went in October and on some days I wore capri's and/or leggings.

I haven't worn a real pair of shorts in many years, and the shortest that I'll go now are bermudas that go all the way down to my knee. I'm with the PP and the chub rub is real! My 'go to' has always been sun dresses, maxis and the occassional capris but I was in so much pain after wearing my maxi dress back in November--temps went into the mid-80s one day. I've lost about 25 lbs since then, but I will not put myself in that position again. I was so embarrased about it that I didn't even tell DH! After reading the helpful posts here I went to the Old Navy webpage and snagged a bunch of those 'dry' tops and leggings. Some were as cheap as $2, so I won't feel bad if I lose more weight (or don't actually wear them since I prefer my Disney themed tees). If I do actually opt for a skirt or dress this trip I will absolutely be wearing some type of garment beneath!
Crazily enough I prefer wearing a legging over shorts any day (usually with a longer tee to cover my backside)--I feel more comfortable being covered. During my first trip in March (much thinner) I also did alot of tees with skinny jeans--so confortable :)

Casual cotton dresses or shorts and t shirt. Either way with sneakers (not very attractive). And a hat.

I'm trying to decide on whether to go super casual and do yoga pants/Nike running shorts with tees all week or should I pack a few sundresses with some light sweaters if it gets chilly...we are going in October.

Opinions?!?!

I like to theme it up.

I live here and can tell you, it's hot. The heat does not go away to maybe end of November if we're lucky.

Shorts and cute tank tops for the daytime and some jeans/pants for the night since it cools down some.

I wear short sleeve cotton T's and shorts - it will be in the 80's most likely (accuweather.com has an extended 45 day forecast...) so I'd not worry about sweaters or pants unless 80's is cold to you.

Depends on the park - at AK and MK there are water rides so I tend to wear shorts and tanks that dry quickly. At Epcot and HS I wear a sundress or shorts and tops that aren't so 'sporty'. We do park hop and I usually change during our resort break so I plan on two outfits per day and I do pack several different shoes. I have always found that changing shoes midday saves my feet.

You've got the right idea- cute but comfy! Athleta has very cute and packable sundresses and skirts, and you can probably get great sale prices now. I don't like wearing sneakers to dinner so I wear Reef flip flops. They're worth it!

Well I sweat alot- so I am trying to find dry fit type things for October. I have had good luck with the clearance sports stuff from JC Penney. I found a couple of tennis type skirts (?skorts?) with the bike type shorts underneath (chub rub) and some of the same material shirts. I would love to be able to do cute dresses but I am usually too tall for most. We are surprising the kids again, and my oldest DD is 14, she wears mostly denim shorts, I hope to find some things that will dry fast and bee cooler than those.

We go in September when it is very hot, all the time. I wear sundresses exclusively because they are easy to pack and I like wearing dresses. Also, our Disney trips are the only time we get family photos so I like to look cute. I've taken up running over the summer and it's going to be hard to not just pack comfy running clothes on our upcoming trip, though - I may have a different answer in 6 weeks!

What's most comfortable for you is what's best!

We're going in September for the first time (other visits in Nov., Dec., and Feb.) I know September will be hot and humid. But how hot are we talking for mid-September? Still mid-90's or cooled off to low 90's?

Very hot; very humid. Most days are in the 90's. It cools off for a bit when it pours in the afternoon, but it's never cool enough for me to wish i had sleeves on. Not even short sleeves!

Tank tops/t-shirts with shorts and Nike sneakers...all about function. If I wanted to dress up I'd stay home in nyc and hit up the rainbow room lol
