I'll be travelling in September so know it will be warm! I'm a dress and skirt girl, but is this too impractical for the parks and ride? Should I just stick to shorts and go out and buy a load? (We're there for 18 days!)
What do you wear in the parks normally?
Oh and shoes of course (can't forget the shoes!) what would you suggest? Vans, converse, sandals?
Thanks!!
skirts/dresses are fine - just make sure they are lightweight but not see-thru in the bright Floridian sun, non-constricting (avoid belts, heavy ornamentation), have coverage that won't get "places that haven't seen the sun in years" burnt (watch out for cutout and "lacy" styles - we've seen many a patterned, painful sunburn), and long enough to make movement comfortable. i wear mostly lightweight shorts with tanks, and an occasional dress (nighttime) or yoga pant (if it's a bit cold).
imho, skip the converse and vans - neither have enough arch support, and will likely cause blisters unless you add socks.
i've tried just about every type of footwear (regular flip-flops, water shoes,
crocs, various sneakers, fit-flops, etc), and teva mush flip-flops won for comfort, great arch support, and no blisters

they have cute wedge styles that are really comfy too.
try to bring a lightweight sweater or two (neutral, so it will go with most outfits) as the AC is usually on super-high on rides, as well as in restaurants, and stores.
