I didn't mean I was out on the whole trip, no way, just on the deluxe.
There's just no way I could consider it. Value makes the most sense for me money wise, but I wanted to share a room and splurge on mod (yes, for me a mod is a splurge  ). I really like the looks of Coronado Springs and several of the reviews on the DIS say that you have "the feel of a deluxe at mod pricing" whatever that means, but it sounds good to me.

Of course we can do two seperate hotels. For that matter we might have some people at the deluxe, some at the mods, some at the DVC. It's not a big deal, I just thought to stay at one place would be more fun. That's all. One thing the lady at Leisure Group sales mentioned is as this large of a group she could block a section of rooms together for us and arrange special transportation to and from the parks, and special events that I am still waiting for the e-mail info on.

If our group dwindles in size we won't qualify for some of those things. Again not a big deal, just an FYI. Everyone has to do what's best for them. As I said before this is everyone's vacation and as long as we all have fun that's the main thing. :thumbsup2

Thats awesome news about the leisure group stuff
you rock mommau !! i dont care we stay i love the deluxes but will stay mod especially if i gets all together, plus transportation and ticket discounts

do you mind if i call you Beth, its easier than mommau
No problem.

I put a call in to Christina at Leisure Groups to try and get a quote for a group rate at Animal Kingdom Lodge. She will call me back. Just for comparision.

When I checked it for CS the group rate knocked $19 off the reg. rate. (from $139.00 to $120.00) That's not too bad.

There is a room called the Deluxe Savannah Room at the AKL that has a queen bed, a daybed and a bunk bed. Sleeps 5 max. Rack rate for that room is $350 a night. AP rates are not available yet for our dates and won't be until about 3 months prior. But we can book what we want now and when the AP rates come out if our hotel/rooms qualify then we can adjust the rate.

I don't know much about the AP rates but the way she talked made it sound like they don't always know which hotels will get a discount. Anyone know if that is accurate?

Another thing to keep in mind is for all the rooms the prices are based on 2 adults. Even though a room can sleep 5 adults you will need to add the extra adult fee ($25 per adult at AKL/WL and $15 per adult at CS/CBR). Just an FYI.

Anyone else have a headache? :rotfl: Shame on Disney for giving us so many choices! Life would be easier if they only had one hotel. Who can I complain to?? :teeth: J/K
If I wasn't planning this what else would I be doing? Laundry? I think not! :rotfl2:

good point about the extra adults in each room
i totally forgot about that
it would kind of defeat the purpose with the extra cost

You might want to check with Christina on the charge for extra adults in the room over 2. Last Oct on the LG rate we could have 4 adults in a room (or 5 depending on which resort) and there was no extra charge.
Im still a maybe but I go I wouldnt mind if there were more than 2 ppl in the room. Last time I went with friends we just talked about who liked to shower at night and who in the am. It was easy to work something out.

Thanks for the heads up. I will do that. The lady I spoke with yesterday was not Christina and she may not have all the info straight.

I didn't figure anyone would want to do it,but lots of people jumped at the idea. They have bunk beds at AKL/WL and a lot of people are willing to go 3 to a room if it means deluxe.. Check out the resorts thread on the new board

What new board?

Here is the link:

But apparently it is down right now because I cannot make it work and neither can some others.

Personally I think we should just stick with the DIS meets section instead of hopping back and forth. We are all on the DIS daily anyways. ;) As long as we stay on the DIS meets board we should not be in anyone's way or get on anyone's nerves. :teeth: I mean that's what the DIS meet board is for, to plan trips, right? :confused3

I agree.

Is there a list of who is going?
I have most of the names. There are some who are flying/driving in, some who are local, some who are already going to be there and only want to meet for a day or an evening, and still others who are undecided and are waiting for more info (like resort and price) before they decide.

I plan on starting a thread (soon) asking people who already know for sure they are going to PM me with answers to certain questions that will give me a final count and also help me match people up.

Sounds great!

The other board is down for me too. I like to be able to post there for the chatter and all that. I figured a DIS planning board wasn't the best place for some of that.

No one has to feel like that have to post over there, it is just a great way to keep everything together and a quick way to communicate.

And I like it better because it is much, much faster over there (when it was working that is).
