*Ladies ONLY trip* Resort Category Poll (new update p.5 #65)

What resort category would work best for you?

  • Value

  • Moderate

  • Deluxe

  • I'll stay anywhere, as long as I am there!!

Results are only viewable after voting.
:cool1:

I think I am going to wrap up the other poll since it's pretty obvious which dates are ahead and I think everyone that is going has voted. Looks like we will take over the World Sept. 28 thru Oct.2!! :woohoo:

And on this poll it appears the mods are still ahead. That's good. I think that will be more affordable for most. :thumbsup2

I voted for moderate because that seems like a great compromise. I would love to share a room and I have an AP if there is any way we can book AP rates. I'm open to any mod. I've only stayed at CBR and loved it and have always wanted to try the others!
:wizard:

Hi everyone!

Well, we have the dates (9/28-10/2) and soon should know more about which resort we want. The next poll after this will be which of the moderate resorts we want, because as of right now the mods are ahead. :sunny:

I'm going to set up a thread that will be sort of like an exchange thread where I am going to have people start PMing me when they know for sure they will be going.

That way I can start compiling an accurate list. There will be a sign-up deadline so we can make reservations before it gets to late, but I will give people enough time to talk to their family and employers.

I will also ask people who are going to answer a few important questions such as their exact arrival and departure dates, if they will share a room, if they are a smoker, etc.
Then once we have a list we can make reservations and start matching people up.

So keep an eye out for those threads! :teeth:

Two questions:
1- Any idea what the cost of a deluxe and a value resort would be at that time? For comparative purposes?
2- I have at least 1/2 dozen refillable mugs - shall I pack them? :rolleyes1 (Sorry I couldn't resist!)

Well, I called today and spoke with a WDW Leisure Group planner to price Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach Resort. For our dates there is still availability and the price for a standard view room would be $120 a night plus tax. Divide that by two if you are willing to share a room and that's not bad.

I didn't ask about the deluxe because at the time the mods were ahead in the poll so I went with that. I have her direct number so I can always call back for a comparision.

Oh, and yes bring the mugs. I need one. :thumbsup2

If we got an AP rate at say the AKL we could do bunk bed rooms at 3 people for probably way let than 70 a night.. AP rates there in value season are usually 170 or less..That would be 50$ or so a night

3 adults in one room? Is there more than one bathroom?? :earseek:

If not, that may be a problem with 3 women trying to take showers and get ready, especially for a night out on the town at Pleasure Island. ;)

I didn't figure anyone would want to do it,but lots of people jumped at the idea. They have bunk beds at AKL/WL and a lot of people are willing to go 3 to a room if it means deluxe.. Check out the resorts thread on the new board

Well, I guess I'm out then because I really cannot afford deluxe.
I cannot go over $60-$65 a night for my share of the hotel and too be honest that's already more than I was hoping to spend.

I guess I have a different train of thought. This is my first solo vacation ever and who knows when or if there will be another one, so I plan to spend VERY little time at the hotel.

For me it's a bed and a place to shower, nothing more. At least on this trip. I plan to be out all day at the parks (we only have 3 full days!) and most of the night at anyplace that will have me!!
I want to shop and eat and drink and just kick back and do all the things I wanted to do but couldn't with the kids and DH. I would sleep on a bench in DTD if they wouldn't kick me out!

I am a SAHM and money is super tight. Airfare is going to be high where I am leaving from and for me, every penny counts. Sorry to be a party pooper, that's just my reality and I'm used to it. But let me know what you all decide and maybe I can still meet up with you.

No ,no, no..Don't go that way..You started this whole thing!..We can always do a mod and a deluxe you know? Or stick with a mod.. I don't care what we do,I just want to have a get together..Maybe having a moderate and a deluxe option is the way to go?

I don't think that's a proble. I think we have enough people going and you are bound to find someone who wants to either put 3 in a deluxe or split a value. Don't give up on us!!

We could even pick 1 deluxe and one Value.. Value with an AP rate would be really cheap for those who want to go that way.. I like hanging out at my resort ..That's just me though..There are probably lots who just want a place to sleep

There you go!..It seems like there are a lot of us..I think a 2 hotel option is a goo idea.. There are enough of us for that and we could still have lots of meets between the 2 groups

I didn't mean I was out on the whole trip, no way, just on the deluxe.
There's just no way I could consider it. Value makes the most sense for me money wise, but I wanted to share a room and splurge on mod (yes, for me a mod is a splurge  ). I really like the looks of Coronado Springs and several of the reviews on the DIS say that you have "the feel of a deluxe at mod pricing" whatever that means, but it sounds good to me.

Of course we can do two seperate hotels. For that matter we might have some people at the deluxe, some at the mods, some at the DVC. It's not a big deal, I just thought to stay at one place would be more fun. That's all. One thing the lady at Leisure Group sales mentioned is as this large of a group she could block a section of rooms together for us and arrange special transportation to and from the parks, and special events that I am still waiting for the e-mail info on.

If our group dwindles in size we won't qualify for some of those things. Again not a big deal, just an FYI. Everyone has to do what's best for them. As I said before this is everyone's vacation and as long as we all have fun that's the main thing. :thumbsup2

Yea!!! We just wanted to make sure. And I am all in for CS, but would stay at a value if I needed to. Also, I am still in for DVC if anyone wants to head down that road. If there is someone else out there that could pool points with me, we could do a grand villa, sleeping 12 and it would only be $70/night/per person. :)

<whew>. I thought you were jumping out of the whole thing... CSR looks wonderful in fact, I'm going to go visit it on this trip..I've stayed at POR and POFQ,and I'm doing a split at POR/WL in a month..CSR is the next moderate I want to try..Deluxes are expensive and sharing one is great way for me to try one without paying full price..I'm going to stay on after the weekend and hae 2 of my kids fly down. We may end up switching over to CSR from wherever we stay

:rotfl2: Silly girls, you think you can get rid of me that easy?? :rotfl2:
Nice try though. ;) :p
