*Ladies ONLY trip* Resort Category Poll (new update p.5 #65)

What resort category would work best for you?

  • Value

  • Moderate

  • Deluxe

  • I'll stay anywhere, as long as I am there!!

Results are only viewable after voting.
I posted this on the other thread also.

FYI - I thought I would let ya'll know that there is a ICC Annaul Conference and Code Developement Hearings from 9/17/06 - 9/30/06 (10/1/06 if needed) and they are staying at Coronado Springs Resort. My DH will be there for these so I found out from him.

You might want to check room availability if you decide to stay at CSR. This is a nationwide conference so there will be a lot of people.

I love love love the option of renting points for grand villas..Let me do some research

Thanks Jenny! Let me know if I can do anything to help.

I don't know that I'd be able to go (time and money are the question), but I'm interested if I can swing it.

If I were able to go, my favorite option by far is the grand villas with DVC points where those of us without points contribute $$ toward points.

But my attending is very questionable right now. :(

If not the DVC, if I could go, I'd do anything but think a moderate is the best compromise, even though my favorites are the deluxes. That, or stay at the Swan and Dolphin.

And if I get to go, I call dibs on Michelle as a roomie! ;)

A grand villa at the BWI is 341 points for the 4 night trip..That's 3410$.. They each sleep 12... The problem with that is,how many people will they really sleep.I don't see us sharing beds..There are 3 bedrooms in each

:cool1: :woohoo:

If you can get the time off from work you ARE going! You won't have a choice in the matter. :sunny:

Jenny, thanks for looking into that!

As long as the bed is a Queen size or larger I don't mind sharing if I had to, especially if it meant more people could go because it was more affordable.

Let's see how many DISers are willing to "donate" DVC points and how much they would want us to chip in for them.

Shoot, I'd cycle out sleeping on the floor if necessary. LOL!

I am a bit of a restless sleeper, so I'd probably be better off on my own double. Or, literally, on the floor on some cushions. But I can also share a king without a problem.

All of a sudden I'm starting to have flash backs from some of my road trips from the last two years. :rotfl2:

We would pack a room and someone would bring an air mattress so that we could get by as cheap as possible. :teeth:

Then of course there wasn't much sleeping because we all had to chat.

I think that we have at least 23 signed up as a go, 2 to a room is at least 11 rooms. Can you give us an expample of the rates?

We got $74 value, $99 mod and the deluxes varied. We got great rates at AKL but for the Poly it wasnt much off rack, say maybe $30-$40.

What is the date you guys are aiming for?

I voted Mod, but don't mind value or deluxe. I don't mind sharing a room or renting DVC points. I can't believe I am actually considering going to the world without DH or DS. :cool1:

It will be fun though to actually be with others that love the world as much as I do!!!

Can we stay and BWI and pool hop over to SAB?

If it's a moderate, my vote is for Coronado Springs because that's the only of the moderates I haven't stayed in yet. :D

LOL pool hopping why i never ....:)

They might notice 30 moms trudging over in their crocs, crock pot cords flapping in the wind, intruding on their pool, huh?

I have been on the phone with Christina from Leisure Sales at WDW and told her we were looking at about 12 rooms at this point (several people are still undecided, so I told her that number may change either way). The dates I gave were 9/28 thru 10/2 since it pretty much looks like everyone either didn't care or wanted those dates.

I had her check on availability for Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach resort and they are both available.

The standard view room rate would be $120 (plus 11.5% tax) per room per night. That's the same at both places.

She is putting together an info packet and will e-mail it to me ASAP with all sorts of info and also fun things for groups to do. (Epcot private viewing and dessert party anyone? :teeth: ) She also mentioned discount park tickets with a complimentary PI admission, if we are interested.

Hopefully I will hear from her soon. I have her direct number if I need any more info.

So far it looks like the moderate resorts are coming out ahead in the poll.
BTW, here is a link to the Disney Leisure Group page so you can see a sample of what is available to us:

Okay I have a crockpot but I'm crocless...guess I am going to have to check them out. :lmao:

As far as the DVC thing, we have 175 points available and are looking to rent them all (won't have them until June). I am willing to "chip" in part of those and others can rent the rest or however we want to do it.

$120 for Coronado isn't bad, $60 each?
