Ladies, is LuLaRoe popular in your area/with your friends?

Lularoe is no better than Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Rodan & Fields, Beachbody, Amway, or any other multi level marketing, make full time pay for part time hours, pay to play, company.
And it's an expensive MLM. A friend sells it and the start up cost is $5000. :crazy2:

The clothes are sold in my area and on FB, but I haven't seen anybody wearing them. The prints aren't my style, so I haven't bought anything from my friend.

Hence the "pay to play."

These companies won't tell you how many people in your area are already selling it. And the only way to move up in the company is to recruit others to sell the same stuff you are. Try advertising like a normal business and they will shut you down pretty quickly.

I refuse to purchase anything sold by a MLM company.

I've heard of them, in fact if I get added to one more Facebook group I'm going to roll up into the corner and cry. I have to remove myself everyday because it seems like everyone is having some kind of party.
I do belong to a local group called Joy Wholesale where the lady will post items and then when enough people comment "sold" she puts in the bulk order getting us all a great deal.

Had heard of and saw lots of ravings about them. I finally went to party near me bought 2 prs of solid color leggings. I have yet to wear them but I could see myself buying more colors, prints I'd say are hit or miss. I'm in Central Ohio myself

I have one pair of their Leggings and about 30 different pairs of cheaper (under $12) leggings I have bought on Amazon or through Facebook groups. I honestly cannot tell the different in feel and quality but my wallet sure can. I do wear pattern ones but stick mostly to black and white. I also mostly just wear them around the house/neighborhood.

Popular here. I have two pairs of leggings and two of the shorter skirt. I don't like most of the tops. I do like the dresses, but don't want to pay the price tag on them.

I do find the sizing issues mentioned earlier very confusing.

ETA: I've never been able to buy a full length legging before b/c I've never seen any that come in tall. This is the reason I first bought LLR!

Yep a friend just started her business.shes done pretty well with Thirty-one so we will see. I personally haven't seen anything I'd wear.
And that's pretty harsh criticism of "MLM" home businesses. ALL business are a form of pyramid only different tax structures and different formalization.
I'd rather pay for quality things I like from a friends personal business than support corporations like Walmart.

...In addition, the consultant kept making size suggestions. "You'll want to size down by one size in this style, and you'll want to size up by 2 sizes in that style." (particularly the shirts/dresses/skirts, not the leggings). It all ended up being very overwhelming and I left with nothing. I don't know HOW you would order from a web page unless you already knew what size you'd need. I like some of the stuff my sister has, though.
Okeydokey - put me down as a "NO". The nicest piece of clothing on earth couldn't overcome my vanity and make me willing to size up 2 sizes; world's worst marketing strategy...:rotfl2:

Sorry, is it not a multi level marketing company? Pay to play? Recruit to move up? "Your own home based business" where you are limited in advertising? Or is it?

MLM businesses aren't home based businesses. No, your friend doesn't own her own business. You know this because she can't sell it or will it to someone. If it was her own business, she could.

And she says she is making money with it? Doing pretty well? Ask to see her schedule C. That will tell you what she is really making.

No, not all businesses are pyramids, like a multi level marketing companies. My husband's company doesn't require him to purchase products from the company, so the company can make money. This site makes for some interesting reading.

Yes, very popular here (central VA). I have a good number of LLR dresses and skirts and many of my friends do as well.

I love the leggings! It's pretty much all I wear now and I pair it with a cute tunic. Due to my illness and being on prednisone, my weight fluctuates all over the place so these are ideal for me. They are very comfy and I don't have to keep buying new pants in various sizes as I go up and down.
I have some prints that are my 'indoor' wear because they are so bright and colorful and I haven't felt comfortable enough to wear them out, and I have some really cute patterns that I'll wear out and about. The tunics I pair with them I buy from Amazon. I only have a couple of LLR shirts but they are are a bit pricey for my liking.

Yes, it's very popular where I am in PA. I think I have about 5 or 6 pieces of LLR clothing. Some of the prints are a little too wild for me but there are a lot of really cute (mild) prints. Three of my pieces of clothing are solid colors. I just got a Carly dress and I.Am.In.Love.

I first heard of them from a woman in my office, who was wearing the leggings. Then a Disney friend invited me to a party she was hosting on FB and I bought a pair of plain black leggings and a tunic (the Irma style). I've since bought one more tunic. The leggings are super soft, and I wear them all the time. The tunics are a bit tricky--as a PP mentioned, they run very long and as I'm only 5'3", they can be tough to pull off. They are VERY comfortable for travel, however.
None of my friends wear/have heard of them, and I don't see women out and about in my area (coastal CT) wearing anything by them. I'm not huge on patterns on clothes in general but I've been tempted to try out a pair of their wildly patterned leggings for fun!

I'd say they are growing in popularity here. I discovered them a few months ago and I'm in love. It's all I've worn so far this school year. Love the dresses and skirts, I only have a couple pairs of leggings and just wear them at home.

I haven't had to size UP in anything. I've sized down. What I love is that my size is consistent. If I buy a "perfect t" I always wear the same size. I don't like shopping and trying things on so this has been great.

Very popular around here, and I love the items I have.

Some people don't like MLM or home-based businesses, and that is fine. Personally, I've done well with mine. I'm not looking for a full-time income, just enough for the extras and that's what I do. Over the years I've become friends with people in the different businesses, and if I like their products I buy from them. Never any hard feelings if I don't either. There are friends and neighbor's who buy from me, again no hard feelings if they don't. Not all MLM consultants are in your face pushy.
