Ladies, I need your opinions on ball gowns(several choices included)

The second one is my favorite. I like the third one too, but I would be afraid that people would keep stepping on it.

I love the first one... it really grabbed my attention...

Not to throw more dress confusion in the mix but do you have a Davids Bridal near you?
They have this great thing called make a match seperates. I bought a black formal skirt and a shawl four year ago for a cruise. Now everytime I cruise, I simply go and buy two new tops! Has turned out to be much cheaper... and since these military balls are a fact of life for you... it might be helpful to be able to use the same bottom....

I have never understood "cut on the bias" can someone explain it to me?

A bias cut is stretchier. The fabric is cut on the diagonal rather than the straight grain.

The gold one or purple. They are all beautiful gowns but I like the empire waist ones the best. You'll be beautiful in any of them. Have fun at the ball.

Another vote for the purple or gold. I think that these would be the most flattering on and I love the beading detail. They are all really beautiful, and I'm sure you will look wonderful in whatever you choose.

Bias cut also makes the fabric drape differently. I really like the drape of a bias cut.
