Ladies, I need your opinions on ball gowns(several choices included)

I really like the first two. What store(s) are they from???

I love the purple one! #2 is beautiful, too, but a little plain for a ball. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you will look lovely!:thumbsup2

I really like #2. The brown/champagne color is really striking and I love the style. Good luck as you decide!

Well I love them all and couldn't wear any of them. I've a little too heavy for some and a little too well endowed for all of them. I need something with a back where I'd be able to actually wear a bra.

But this isn't about me is it...hmmm, probably the black one is my favorite of all.

Tina - I like the 2nd one.

some of the others seem really low cut. I wore a low cut to the National Guard's Engineer's ball once. It was a little uncomfortable (but funny NOW) to have the extremely drunk 1st Sgt staring down my dress while I sat between him my now DH and across the table from my future in-laws!!! He'd spent WAY too long in the hospitality room. LOL

I like the 3rd one and the fourth one in the gold. :thumbsup2

I really like the first one.

But I need my arms covered. If you don't I love that one.

The problem I have with the last one is that it seems similar to a dress I bought last year online. The big problem was with the top - it was too small- and they sort of fit ontop of my ****s- and then it looked very maternity to me.

I like the gold one/purple one...same gown, just different colors.

Very elegant!

If you are bustier, the last one would look nice. I wasn't too fond of the shorter second to the last ones. The third one was pretty nice as well.

I love the colors on the second one but it just isn't right.. if you know what I mean.

im in the same boat-and i NEED a red one (snake is FA-King of Battle HUAH) and i tend to like things that cover me on top-im fairly generously equiped.

They are all beautiful, Tina, what colors do you have already?

I like the 1st one and it that red color, I think it is stunning.

Thank for the opinions ya'll. I still don't know what I want lol. I've tried on a few of the different cuts and like I said don't have a problem with sleveless. Honestly, though I guess I should, I don't mind having bare arms. I'm more concerned about pudgy stomach areas. It's hot and crowded at these balls and they last forever. I like to be as comfortable as possible.

So far I have ball gowns in a teal/light blue, a combination black/blue, black, hot pink that sparkles from head to toe, and a pants suit.

the 2nd one and the short ones are my least favorite.

I would love to try the first one but in a different color.

I wish I had a reason to dress up like that. Have fun.

LOL strapless dresses don't fall down. I have a couple of them. Gravity, push up bras, and double sided tape is a wonderful thing.

I have special chicken cutlets that I wear with the halter/vneck styles.

I really don't know that I want the short one because it just doesn't seem formal enough. Only 1 and 2 can come in different colors. The others are pictures in the colors they come in.

I'm not sure I would look good in gold though it is a beauitful dress in person. Can you tell I'm having difficulty choosing? Thanks for the thoughts keep themp coming.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I think I see a new tag in your future. That just cracked me up.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If I live close by I would love to go dress shopping with you. I think it would be a blast.

I have never understood "cut on the bias" can someone explain it to me?
Thanks:)
(Sorry for the highjack Tina)

I'll try and explain -

Take a regular table napkin and fold it in half, and cut a square using the folded edge as one side. This is a normal cut - with the grain of the fabric.

Take another napkin and fold it in half diagonally and then cut a square again using the folded edge as one of the sides of that square - that is a bias cut of the grain of the fabric.

If you did this with plaid napkins the first one the plaid would be square with the edges of the new square you cut and the second one, the bias cut, the lines of the plaid would be more diagonal to the square of the cut.

Does that make sense?
Does that help?

I really like the second one....the brown and beige sash. And I also like the short ones.

From someone who's been to a military balll... I like 2 and 4 (in purple.) But you'd probably just need to try them on to see which flatters you the best.

I like one, two, five and six. Those are some really nice gowns you picked! :thumbsup2
