Hi eveyone,
OK- Its that TOM, my weight loss has stalled, Im "down in the dumps," and I need some
tips and inspiration to help me through biscuit cravings.

Hang in there.I know it is tough going through those weks. I am getting close myself and I am having all kinds of cravings. What am I going to do?? I am going to make a legal cheesecake for those cravings.Try that and see if it helps...Make sure you stay devoted to your plan and drink plenty of water. Just think ...you might not even see a difference!! When our bodies get used to eating a certain way sometimes TOM doesn't make any difference. BUT... on the other hand if it is cravings you are having just find something to eat as a treat that is legal or go to the library and start reading a book to keep your mind off of cravings and to rest your mind and body.

You can get through this week!! You are strong..You are invincible...You ARE WOMAN!!!!!
 
I know exactly how you feel!! I always get this way when it is almost TOM, but I think of it this way...Imagine those biscuits hanging off each part of your butt! LOL! That always does the trick for me!!:p:p
 
I'm sorry but i had to laugh at the biscuits hanging on the butt comment.LOL I can't help you as i don't know a thing about Atkins other than general stuff but i don't think your suppose to have that biscuit for sure;) I know it's hard to fight those alwful cravings and if you were not on atkins i'd say cut the biscuit in half throwing the other half away and enjoy it!!!!!! I have a biscuit a couple times a week myself but i don't live a carb free life. I admire you guys that can do this i think it's wonder!!! I sure hope you made it thru the biscuit craving.
 

Just hang in there and keep drinking your water! :) It's no use giving into cravings because you'll be satisfied for a few minutes and then wonder, "What the heck did I EAT that for?"

Hormones are so silly. If you are still having those cravings, TRY to do something else, like paint your nails or go for a walk or (if you are crafty) work on some crafts. Usually what happens to me is I will kind of obsess for a while about what I want and then if I have it, I feel bad after. So I try to just distract myself in any way that I can. It has gotten alot easier lately to just ignore my cravings because *I know* they are like speedbumps on my getting healthy journey. If I give into the craving, I am just taking the long way around instead of staying on the main route! :)

Beanie: I laughed so hard about "picturing the biscuits hanging off each part of your butt!". It made me realize I really shoudn't
mess up now. Even though I thought about making biscuits to
throw at my DH, (whose also doing Atkins), as he said he has
lost 2 more pounds.

Darn, Beanie!!! I will never be able to look at a biscuit the same way again!!!

Probably a good thing, though. :rolleyes:
 
tinkerbell - me too! PMS hit me today and I wanted ice cream soooo bad! that is a hard one for me often! but I thought "no, i'm not giving in already, it's only Monday for crying out loud!" I thought about my WI on Wed and how disappointed I've been the past couple of weeks and how I want to stay on plan all week without cheating in preparation for a controlled cheat day Saturday with DH :)

Soo, i don't know if that was really inspiring, but just to let you know you are NOT alone this week with the hormonal thing going on! We can do this! We are strong!!!!

oh yea, and now EVERYBODY knows and we can't report back that we gave in, right??

If the cravings get to bad you could try making these: Cheese pepper biscuits It's a recipe posted on Lowcarbfriends.

I know sometimes cravings are tough to beat. Thankfully I usually crave chocolate. SF chocolate isn't hard to find. Good luck.:D

I read Tinkerbell Flying's starting thread, Mum4jenn, Beanie and PartyofSix's responses all before I realized what 'TOM' was. I kept thinking 'why don't I know about "TOM", it doesn't sound good!!' ......I need to go back to work!!!!

Now that I know what "TOM" is...I can share my treat. I found low-carb (no carbs) chocolate bars. They are called "Pure De-lite chocolate bars". I buy mine at Wal-mart --next to all the low-carb stuff. They have dark chocolate (my favorite-- no grams) and milk chocolate with almonds (DH's favorite 3g). They are not bad--actually, they are pretty good. And they are great to have with "TOM"!!;)
