Ladies- how many purses do you bring to Disney?

no purse for me, either... I bring a dark, boring backpack so that any of my children or (gasp!) my husband can help carry!!:rotfl:

No purse for me. I don't own any!

I am the mule and I have to carry water, snacks and camera gear!

Zero...but I do carry a clear vinyl waterproof backpack to store autograph albums, camera, id's, etc in and that we always take with us to the parks. We receive numerous compliments from the CMs regarding our backpack. CM's simply love it because it's clear and they don't have to unzip it. BTW, Wal-Mart currently has something similar to ours for $9.

I hear ya!!! My kids bring their sport sacks and I have a VB backpack and eventually the kids' stuff invariably ends up in the ol' gray mare's backpack. Meaning mine. So I end up with 4 cameras, a video camera, 3 ponchos, one lime green umbrella, 3 wallets, 3 waters, 2 brushes, the empty sport sacks - you get the idea, and the weight of it makes me lean a little backward so I look like that old Keep on Truckin' dude...very unattractive. Which means in the future I have to HIRE a mule!!!

I just saw these new Dooney & Bourke bags on another thread, and I am getting a wristlet ASAP!

<---- Also a wee bit obsessive with handbags! :lovestruc I don't feel encumbered by them at all. In fact, I feel as if I'm missing a limb if I don't have some type of handbag on my shoulder, LOL.

I took 'purses' to be all-encompassing...inclusive of handbags, totes, messenger bags, backpacks, et al. That said, I bring two...two and a half if you count a wristlet as a separate bag.

On the plane, I'll have a large tote, big enough to hold reading material, ipod, camera, snacks, water. For the parks, I'll be using this bag...a Disney parks LeSportsac-type bag with a strap that adjusts from shoulder length to crossbody. It's lightweight and water resistant, but big enough to hold the usual park stuff...camera, cell, mini battery-powered fan, wipes, blister remedies...plus a small journal and an inflatable back pillow, that DH uses for shows, retaurants, etc.

I'll also be bringing a wristlet, which I might use at the pool or when we're dining at one of the restaurants on the premises of our home resort (Swan/Dolphin).

I use the same bag traveling to WDW. I also use it in the parks if I need to carry extra "stuff". I like the fact that it can expand to hold more items if needed.

In the parks I usually use a small nylon Prada bag. It is lightweight, water resistant and can hold quite a bit for a small bag,

:)I usually carry a regular purse on the plane but once at the resort I don't use it. I have a VB hipster and when we were there in May I purchased a cross-body D&B which I will probably bring along in August. I need something big enough to carry all of ID stuff (ticket, insurance cards, cc, $ etc.), tissue pack, lip gloss, hand sanitizer, sunglass case and I am always the one who is in charge of the safe key.

When I read this, I had to chuckle, but then reading all of the responses, I had to LOL....but it's just for lack of understanding I guess....definitely NOT to be insulting to you. Maybe if you explained why you would bring more than one purse / handbag, we could relate. At this point, it's hard to relate when you consider that almost all vanity goes out the window at WDW when you consider your main purpose there and the heat. Most people would rather lug a bottle of water or a misting fan than a purse.

all of us do not go when its hot...we go in Dec and I always bring a reg bag and then I go to the coach outlet and get another to bring home...I use my swingpack in the park and when we go to dinner or dtd I use my reg purse...I am used to having it anytime I go somewhere so its no big deal to bring it on vacation and while some may wonder why take any type of coach (or any name brand) bag in the parks...I dont buy my bags to sit at home so they do not get dirty I buy them the use...now I dont put them on the ground or throw them around I DO use them..if not why spend the money? We dont carry any back packs or things in the park...just a bottle of water and put keys, money, phones and chap stick in my swing pack.

none - most days if it doesn't fit in my pocket it doesn't come

some days i bring a disney string backpack, but that is rare

nothing i really need other than pass, drivers license, credit card, room key, lip balm, and some tylenol

i am a purse lover too, i have several, especially vintage dooney & bourke, but whenever i travel, and especially at wdw, i carry this travelon bag:

http://www.ebags.com/product/travelon/large-messenger-style-shoulder-bag/62474?productid=1365943

it has slots for cards, several zipper compartments for money, batteries, etc., and a small pouch on the outside that holds my phone, so i don't have to dig for it. i just carried it to stone mountain, GA, yesterday, and once again, was so glad i did! SO much easier to travel with than a regular purse!

I don't take a purse to Disney, there's too much other stuff to keep up with. But, I do take my D&B Black Disney wristlet, it goes everywhere with me!

I usually just take my park bags, and a clutch or small shoulder bag to carry if we're going to dinner outside the parks.

Very true, not all of us go when it's hot! I am also very accustomed to having a purse, everywhere, so not having it at Disney would feel awkward! You also make a good point, I also didn't purchase my purses to have them sit at home, but that doesn't mean I deliberately put them in situations where they could get dirty or destroyed!
Thanks for the different opinion, it's appreciated!

I'd much rather carry a purse than worry about not having my hands free with a wristlet, but to each his own!

I am also obsessed with purses.

A small messenger bag is the best for the parks - enough room to keep a couple souveniers, a bottle of water, and wallet.

We usually have at least one night with nice dinner plans (V&A's, or that restaurant in the WL - can't remember the name) so I will bring a clutch also.

Plus a nice big purse for the airport/airplane.

Just one, a cross-body black leather bag big enough for a wallet, cell phone, 2 small toys and small camera.

I love love love these bags!!! I definitely want one! Where did you see those at and do you by any chance remember the price?! Thanks!

that handbag pictured is $155, i just got one off ebay and it is AWESOME! I have three of the disney dooneys and i will be buying ANOTHER if theres a new print on my september trip. i dont carry my disney dooenys in the park though. i just bring my kipling lancelot handbag and it is terrific for WDW! :wizard:
