Ladies- how many purses do you bring to Disney?

I have a small black leather Coach backpack. With our youngest only 4, I still need to carry some kid stuff with us.

I carry 1 'purse'. It is a fossil heavy cloth bag that the handle can be elongated to go across my body or shortened to carry on my shoulder.

I don't know how you can't take a purse/bag to the parks!

My family does rely on my bag so I do carry items for 4 people but we all need money/wallet, KTTW cards, kleenex, wet wipes, bandaids, phone, camera, lip goo, lotion, hair brush and ponies, sunglasses for day and light up items for night, nuts/dried fruit (severly hypoglycemic) and room to add a water bottle, carrots or such that I get at lunch and carry around and small things we buy like jewelry.

I normally carry a black Americabag at home, and a large chequebook wallet. DH calls my handbag "the cauldron". To simplify getting through airport security (and because I always miss removing at least one "liquid" from one of the several pockets in the Americabag) I switch my purse to a blue leather Soprano bag with a matching small-sized wallet, transferring things from one wallet to another, as needed. I bring a small Bagellini and/or a fanny pack for the parks. If we are going to be at a lot of fancy places while we are on holidays, I bring a small evening bag--just because. When I get home, I completely empty out my blue bag and wallet, and repatriate my i.d., credit cards and so on. Cumbersome, but it saves me a lot of time with airport security! And I never mix up the bags, because they are different colors!

When I read this, I had to chuckle, but then reading all of the responses, I had to LOL....but it's just for lack of understanding I guess....definitely NOT to be insulting to you. Maybe if you explained why you would bring more than one purse / handbag, we could relate. At this point, it's hard to relate when you consider that almost all vanity goes out the window at WDW when you consider your main purpose there and the heat. Most people would rather lug a bottle of water or a misting fan than a purse.

I plan on bringing my VB Hipster and a small Coach purse that goes around my shoulder and will sit on my hip, similar to the VB Hipster. I bring more than one purse because each of them serves two purposes. I like to match. I'd rather bring my Coach to a nice dinner, and bring my Hipster into the parks. I am also bringing an Under Armour slingback to bring to the parks for the days we plan on going on water rides so my Hipster doesn't get wet. I'd rather not lug a bottle of water around and get water for free at the water fountains. Like I stated in my OP, I am obsessed with purses, and that doesn't mean my obsession would go out the window for Disney! I have read other posts where people have purchased new purses exclusively for their Disney vacation, and that's what I did. The question was just if women bring different purses for different parks, or for DTD or a nicer dinner.

I don't know how you can't take a purse/bag to the parks!

I agree with you! I feel naked if I don't have a purse on me! And I always feel like I've forgotten something if I don't have a purse, or that something will fall out of my pockets, etc. My mind is also trained to panic when I don't have a purse with me, I get worried that I lost it, so I don't think I'd do well without a purse in Disney!

I take my wallet out and leave my purse at home. I do pack a beach type bag for the plane trip (filled with the kids stuff and my carry on stuff).

Other then that, DH carries everything else!

One. I can't imagine needing to bring more than that. It's an Rei travel bag.

how many purses and what kind of purses you bring with you to go to Disney?

Thanks!

Zero purses. I don't really have a need for one on vacation. I have a small shoulder teardrop shaped backpack type bag that I toss a few things in for my three year old so I just put my necessities in there (which amounts to my
ticket, my Flipvideo, and a few bucks cash).

I have a navy bag designed to be used as a diaper bag that I use as my travel "purse" for flights. I can take that plus my roll-aboard for no additional plane fee. I fit all of my items that need to be secure into that "purse" such as medicines, and a few pieces of jewelry in addition to money, cc, phone, camera etc.

Once down at Disney all spare valuables go into the safe. I carry only a very small waist pack with the buckle fastened in the back and the compartment in the front. I clip a water bottle onto the strap at the side. For our cool weather trips we take an extremely light weight backpack to carry jackets/fleeces as we dress in layers.

We eat Signature dining 3 or 4 nights in 7 when it is just DH & I but I still would not bother with a separate purse for that. We're often not back in the room to get changed before dinner.

None if I am traveling with DH. He puts my ID in his wallet and off we go. If I am with other people I have a small cross body Coach purse that I carry. It is small and I can just unzip it and the security can look right down to the bottom.

One, but I lock it in the room safe upon arrival. I put everything in my pockets and go through the no bag line.

None! I can't stand carrying a purse at Disney. If there is something I need to take with me, I put it in my camera bag. Otherwise, I take nothing. (Also makes it quicker to bypass the bag search.)

I bring one larger (Vera tote) for the plane, and in it goes a very small cross body which will fit personal items, and a wristlet. I don't use the tote in the park, but might use the smaller ones depending on what is going on with my body. The small cross body can hold my cell phone, personal items (you know what I mean...), lip gloss, $$$/credit cards, Advil, gum and that's about it. The wristlet holds the same less personal items and gum. I only use the small purses if I'm wearing shorts without adequate pockets or a skirt.

I have a tiny obsession, okay, a huge obsession with purses, just curious as to how many purses and what kind of purses you bring with you to go to Disney?

Thanks!

One small fanny pack... :confused3 ...who wants to carry around a bunch of junk on vacation?

Inside fanny pack- small hand sanitizer, small plastic rain poncho, small sunscreen & lipbalm, small water bottle, small bottle ibuprofin, KTTW & card with ADR specifics for the day.
That's it! :thumbsup2

I have a Disney backpack that I use (it's small and more of a bag) and that is it. I don't bring purses.

I have a mini-Tink purse that fits in my carry-on for the plane and it stays there until our return flight. I have a mini-fanny bag that I use in the parks.

I agree. I've been reading these posts about the VB mini-hipsters and I would love to use one. But where would I put my water bottle & mister when I go on rides. I think the water bottle is one of the few "must haves" on a hot & humid day at the parks. I did buy a Travelon bag which has all kinds of nooks & crannies for things and would easily carry my camera, phone, sunglasses, mister, etc. It has a zip pouch on the side for a water bottle. It can be worn as a shoulder bag or cross body. It measures 9" X 7". I don't like alot of bulk either but I've got to have a water bottle!

I can easily see the point of bringing more than one bag/'purse' if the purpose is to have one for the airplane ride and a second (prob smaller) one for park touring.

In the airport you may want to avoid checking items, and you need to be able to grab your ID quickly. You also probably don't want to carry bottled water around, since you can't bring it through security.

In the parks, you've got to carry that bag and it's contents all day long. Conversely, some folks DO like to bring snacks(not me so much), water (A must) sunscreen. The needs are different.

Generally it doesn't make all that much sense to bring multiple bags just for a fashion, BUUUUTTTT, on the other hand, I don't think I'd wear a fanny pack to dinner at Victoria and Alberts. I have seen women with dinner bags at signature dining restaurants. Certainly if you are going to WDw for business or a wedding or other function - then two bags woud be appropriate.

To comment slightly on another post in this thread: if you are staying onsite for at least another 48hours after you make a purchase - you can have almost any item delivered to your resort. All guests can also have items delivered to the front of the park for pick up later in the day. (so long as you'll be there that late) You just have to rememebr to pick the item up at the end of the day. Most of the time, you don't really need to carry around items you've bought if you don't want to carry them, unless it's departure day.
