And do tell about those October dates. I am so tempted to do a trip for Oct.1 for the inaugural F&W Half Marathon. If you are going to be there then you would be twisting my arm even more!

Truth is that I booked a couple of different options (room only reservations so can cancel up to a week ahead of time). I have a lot of things up in the air right now so can't for sure commit to anything... so not going to reveal the dates b/c I am very superstitious and don't want to jinx anything. But suffice it to say I would love, love, love to see you gals in May at Flower & Garden.

My Oct dates, by the way, are Oct 14-23.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. We are up to a most auspicious day in this 2009 Food & Wine trip. On this day I had lunch with two lovely ladies (and a rat) in my beloved France, met the infamous Happy Dog and her beautiful family, saved the world from pretzels, had dinner at Yachtsman and had a celebrity sighting of the most delicious variety!

I will never EVER tire of entering via “my” private entrance. In an act of benevolence, I am willing to share it with other DIS’ers.

At this point in the trip, I don’t think I’d seen the decorations in the front of Epcot since I was spoiled with my special entrance.

If I’m not mistaken it was this day that the photopass photographer “made me” climb on the bench/planter thing and do a little pose promising me that it would look great. Ummm… not so much so no posting it here.

I checked out the festival Welcome Center. I loved browsing through all the merchandise. And you can’t believe the very economical glass of Prosecco they serve!

Since I tend to sleep in on vacation, it was time to meet Jen (jenjolt) and Paula (iluvcrush) for lunch at Chefs de France before I knew it! I had been looking forward to this meal for quite a while… for the combined reasons of champagne, croque monsieur, and the memory of the very cute waiter who either flirted with me or took pity on me (I’m choosing to believe the former) in Dec 2008.

After I checked us in and was waiting for our name to be called I continued to be amazed at the number of people who haven’t gotten “the memo” on ADRs. I am equal parts incredulous and sympathetic. How do you know how much research and planning is required if no one tells you?

Our name was called before too long and we were escorted into what I think is the main dining room – the “solarium” overlooking the promenade and importantly, the champagne stand. I like to keep tabs on it.

I wish I could find my notes. I cannot remember if this was the day that Jen and Paula told me about their experiences at Universal. Well, whatever tales they regaled me with, they were delightful. These are great ladies to spend time with…. I highly recommend it!

So for lunch I had the Christine special. Champagne, french onion soup, croque monsieur and crème brulee.

Remy came around to visit us. He was a charmer. I’ve only seen the movie recently (since returning). Very cute! We had been told that telling Remy and his “handler” that we’d heard Remy was a good dancer would elicit some sort of special response but it did not for us. That may be because when he got to our table a woman and her daughter whose table he had already visited came up and announced their pictures hadn’t come out and they needed more.

Stay tuned to see what we did after lunch…

Loved our lunch!!! Remy was too cute and I so enjoyed watching his little antics! I enjoyed the lunch with friends even more!!!!
