Lack of Thanksgiving Talk

Thanksgiving will be busy still, crowd levels probably at a 9 or 10 as every holiday usually is, but it won't be as bad as some other times such as Christmas or New Years. I went two weeks before Christmas in 2017 and it was a nightmare. Like horrible! So Thanksgiving will probably still be fine. Good weather then too.

We have been at all times of the year and find that when people have time off around the holidays and the summer it is busier. More than that I find worse in the summer because the rain and the heat have such an impact on the experience. Even though it may be a bigger crowd of people during the holidays, the weather, the theming around Thanksgiving and Christmas again make for part of the experience.
Either way it's the best place on Earth.

We will be there from the 23rd-30th. This will be our 4th time over thanksgiving and I personally find thanksgiving much more doable than Christmas. I’m surprised to see the calendar say 10 for the whole week of thanksgiving. We have found that the crowds pick up on Wednesday and then start dying down on Saturday.

Crowd calendars were basically no help for us on this trip! Almost all parks were a 10 every day, so we just booked the parks we wanted and agreed to make the most of it. I was surprised last night when I looked at dining options and so many restaurants were completely booked. One park showed no openings at all the day we we'll be there. I've never seen that before and am so glad we booked at 180 days. The only other holiday we've done is July 4th, so maybe it's always like this on holidays.

I'm starting to put together a detailed itinerary. Is it typically too cold for Splash Mountain this time of year? It was closed in January.

Last Thanksgiving it got up into the 80s during the day -- definitely not too cold for Splash Mountain for us.

I’d personally recommend Splash during the day. Mornings and evenings can be a little chilly. Weather during that time can be a bit unpredictable.

There’s a new thread almost everyday it seems asking about dining over thanksgiving fwiw.
