Lack of availability at SSR

did try and post this on the other forum but don't have enough post yet but still wanted to let people know that last night I tried to book a vacation in SSR but was told that there were no 2 bed villa in SSR for Nov 10th 2011, MS also checked all other dvc resorts and there were no 2 beds in any of them either. MS then check studios for that night as we could have switched out to two studios for 1 night but SSR had none of them available for the 10th either!!!
the rest of novermber ( except thanksgiving weekend) were fine it was just the 10th.
Thought this was really wierd does anyone have any idea what could be happening on that one night that has sold out all 2 bed across dvc and studios in SSR.
Am now on a waitlist for the 10th but as we are staying from the 4th till the 20th does mean we may have to move to another resort for one night.

Good to know. I'm waiting to get into the system and we wanted to begin our stay on the 10th. We are waiting to buy airline tickets until we book, but Friday travel is crazy...oh well...can't wait to book our first trip...

We were originally going to travel 11/10-11/20. I started back at the end of April, and there was nothing available the night of the 10th at that point (no 2 BR's, was not checking for anything smaller). I have called for 2 months to find something for that night and have had no success. It is odd; I even was able to find several Grand Villas starting the next night (11/11) and running 5-8 days, but nothing on the 10th.

The only thing I can think of is that it's the night before Veterans day, it's the last weekend of F&W and it's also the end of Jersey week. However, one would think the subsequent nights (11/11, 11/12) would also be equally jammed up and they were not. I have probably called 10-15 times to ask about the 10th in the last 10 weeks and have found nothing.

We resigned ourselves to traveling on the 11th instead and just booked our flights.

There are also a decent number of owners that are still in the habit of doing Sun-Fri vacations....the point reallocation has changed that to some degree, but you will still likely see a trend for those people that have vacationed that way for years.

Also I remember reading they were going to shut down parts of the POLY and use rooms at SSR for those guest. I don't know if this is the time frame.

That should not effect points rooms, they would have to use CRO cash rooms.

Speaking of - OP did you check if CRO had cash rooms? Would you be willing to pay cash for that night?

Good advice. We just added on 4 days for our July trip - no DVC studios on points available (well, unless we changed resorts each day - not a vacation IMHO). However, a cash room was available for the entire 4 nights at BCV!

Jersey week, Veterans Day, last week of Food and Wine and the Christmas parties have started. I'm going to call it the "Perfect Storm".

We'll be there that week and I have some holding points I was hoping to use. MS prepared me for the fact that I'll most likely have to take a different trip some time!

I also was having the exact same trouble with Oct 20th but the waitlist came thru for SSR so now our friends are set for their first stay at Disney.

If its just the one night, book your trip, waitlist the night, and see if you can pay cash for it, so at least you have a place to stay. If it opens you are all set, and cancel the cash night.

We have the same issue. We are thinking of going that week and cannot get anything for the night of November 10th. I have been trying for at least 2 months now. I
