But I just heard on MSNBC that a friend has stepped forward and claimed that he knew it was Laci who caught him having the affair, confronted him about it with pictures, and that she was planning on divorcing him rather then him "confessing" and her not being too upset about it. . .

Hard to say if the friend is credible, but if so then the hubby's story is really fallen apart. .

I would hope if the guy did kill her he has one shred of humanity left and tells the authorities where the body is and save her family any more of this agony. . but I'm not going to hold my breath. . .

Hi, I'm just reading all these posts, and I thought of something.

Do you think she had caught him in his affair and confronted him with pictures or whatever, and there was a fight that ended in her being hit and died from a blow, with him not meaning to kill her, but everything just exploded with her finding out about him.

cottontail, that's exactly what I thought - that she found out about the affair and confronted him. I don't really think he would have PLANNED to kill her on Christmas Eve. Seems like if you were planning it you would NOT plan it right before a holiday when you knew you were supposed to be spending the holiday with her parents. I think she confronted him and that he didn't mean to kill her, but did, or that he hurt her so badly he decided he had to go ahead and kill her because he knew he'd be in trouble if she told.

I think maybe she threatened to divorce him, threatened to tell her family over the holidays, etc, and it made him furious.

I could be totally wrong, but that's the scenario that crosses my mind.

Back to the topic of leaving a very pregnant wife to go fishing..well way back (10 years ago) my DH left me when I was due in less than 2 weeks to go to Pittsburg for a NFL playoff game. We live in Buffalo! If I didn't let him go and the Bills won I would have never heard the end of it...(by the way the Bills did win) I was fine with him traveling that far...this was baby #3 and I was pretty sure labor wasn't going to happen any time soon...I was right she was born late (2/3/93). Both families said it's a tradition for him to go fishing Christmas Eve.
I think he's guilty, but I also think it was an accident...I would hate to think that anyone could could kill their wife and their child!
