Well here is what I think about this.....

I think he killed her and the baby purposely because a kid would get in the way of his affair and "play time"!!! Appears that possibly the baby may have been a "mistake" in his eyes and that was the easy way out....get rid of her...

I too hope that she is not dead and that maybe he just paid her to disappear forever.....who knows!!!! He is a SMUCK that doesn't deserve to be happy......

There is a website www.lacipeterson.com that looks to be maintained by/for Laci's family. I read through it the other day and I think I recall there being something about Scott confessing to Laci's brother than there had been numerous affairs....

After hearing that her family (who are in the REAL know and not just what the press wants the public to think) had lost faith in him, and then reading through the info on her site, I really think he's guilty. Unfortunately, I think this is a homicide and not a missing person case -- and that he did it. So very sad.

I'm just wondering if he will get the insurance money. I mean, with no body, can they prove she is dead? Maybe her body will mysteriously show up soon so he can try to collect the money.

As soon as two days went by, I KNEW there was no way that she was simply "missing". No pregnant woman can stay away that long without being seen and noticed.

I am secretly hoping that she was so pissed off about the affair that she took off on her own, making it look bad for him, making him stew and suffer thru this, and then re-appear with her new baby, get a divorce and full custody. It's my secret wish.

That's a great scenario, and I would secretly wish that too, but I doubt this gal who obviously loved her family and is loved by them, would put her parents, siblings, friends through such torment. I just can't get over what a sad story this is and how nice it would be to have a happy ending, but it sure isn't leaning in that direction.

That is my wish also, but I have thought the same thing. It would be WONDERFUL if she would reappear safe and sound.

Did anyone else see his interview on The Early Show this morning? It was through one of their affiliates. When would talk about Laci he would barely move his lips. But other times he would move them more. It definitely looks like he is trying hard to hide something.

During that interview they asked him if he called his girlfriend on Christmas Eve and told her that he was going to Mass. with his family. He kept avoiding the question. Why was that so hard to answer?!

I just want to smack him!

I think I would have to see hard evidence before I said for sure that the husband is guilty, but at this point, it sure looks like it. I think the oddest thing about the case is the fact that the drapes were closed on the day she disappeared, something the neighbors noticed about Laci is that she opened the drapes every single day, early in the morning. That stood out for me, the fact that something was out of sorts in that house so he had to close the drapes. Gives me the creeps to think about, and my heart goes out to her family.

According to the news brief I just heard, a woman has gone to the police with information that she talked to Lacy Peterson after she "went missing." They did not give any detail, so I have to wait until the 11 oclock news (in about 45 mins) for more information.

And when the neighbor's told police about seeing him with something large wrapped in a blue tarp he came up with loading 2 very large umbrellas in a blue tarp.... that very morning? I wonder if the police have found the "umbrellas". I'm sorry but that's just odd. Why would you wrap umbrellas in a tarp? There are too many "odd occurences"!!!!!

Okay, I just read the story. . .

A convience store clerk in Longview Washington is now claiming that "sometime" in December a woman came in to the store who matched the description of Laci Peterson- mid-20's, short brown hair, pregnant- with an approx. 45 year-old man. . .

The clerk claims that the man left the pregnant woman standing at the counter and stepped out of line to get something he forgot, and she remarked to the pregnant woman that she should be wearing a coat on such a chilly day.

The woman then supposedly told the clerk she didn’t have time to take a coat because she had been kidnapped by the man with her, he had a weapon, and, “This is serious. I was kidnapped. Call the authorities when I leave.”

The clerk says that when the man came back to the counter, he asked what they had been talking about, and the clerk replied; "She just told me you kidnapped her" and that seemed to make the man angry.

The clerk then claims she said in a teasing way that her husband always kidnaps her to take her to dinner, and the man relaxed and laughed and said, “Yeah, I guess I kidnapped her.” And then the two then left the store.

The clerk claims that she then tried to find the number for the police in the phone book. . . but got "distracted" and "forgot" about the incident until she saw a story about the situation on CNN late last week. . .



Wellll. . . with the caveat that anything is possible. . . it sure sounds like a bizzare story to me and one that makes little or no sense.

I doubt too many kidnappers step away from their hostages in a convience store to grab an extra bag of chips; and it would surprise me that a person who had to look up "9-1-1" in the phone book, and then "forgot" that an armed kidnapping victim had begged her for help 5 minutes earlier because she got "distracted" would be able to remember what the the person looked like or what they said weeks later. . . and what kind of a numbnuts would tell a potential kidnapper that the victim had just told her to call the authorities???

The police are going through the surveillance tapes at the store for the month of December to see if maybe they can spot the incident the woman is talking about. . but personally, whether the clerk is making an honest mistake or is just a nut-job, it would very much surprise me if they find anything of consequence..

If the clerk made that up, I hope they throw the book at him, seriously prosecute him.. This is horrific situation for Laci's family never mind her and her unborn baby.. I have not really been following it because with everything else that is going in the world, it is just too upsetting.. I hope they found her alive, but somehow I just do not see that...

What husband goes fishing on Christmas Eve and leaves his wife who is expecting their first child.. something is amiss here..

Yeah Kdibattista, that's what it sounds like to me too. . and unfortunately that kind of thing is pretty common with high-profile cases like this one. .

It was a "she" Marsha, and I'm afraid I agree with you- it seems highly unlikely they'll find Laci Peterson alive at this point. .
