LA Go Card

I was wondering if anyone knew how this card works for children. For instance if you have a child that is eleven and the card states that a child's card is valid for children 3-12 then that would be the appropriate card to get but what if the attraction that you are going to considers him to be an adult, like Universal Studios, would you have to pay out of pocket for an "adult" admission or does it not matter and they accept the child's card for admission? Just wondering.
