Kylo Ren will scare your kids and violate your personal space! It was AWESOME! (Vader BB8 ADDED!)

Well ..... we thought (and been twice) that it is one of the worst meets. Nothing intimidating, no real interaction, just stood there in the corner. I was disappointed at his smaller size. I really wish they would bring someone else in or Vader back.

Yeah we kind of felt the same way last summer. It was kind of meh! We didn't experience the same unabiding "fear" that you get with true Sith Lords like Darth Vader and Darth Maul. Kylo is not a full blown Sith, which is why he doesn't get to carry the name "Darth". Plus, I think his temper tantrums from The Force Awakens left us a little less enamored with him.

I hope we can do this interaction! We are huge Star Wars fans but our 10 yr old DD does NOT like meeting the characters in person, LOL. I will have to bribe her to do this meet and greet...:scratchin

He wasn't intimidating or in my face at all. Mumbled about which side I was on, but that was about it.

I met Darth Vader at Disneyland last fall. Much more intimidating due to his size. I look like an unsure seven year old in the photos. It's hysterical.

Had a great interaction with Chewie. We communicated about the Magic Keeper holding my Magic Band puck thingie.

Well yeah...he's a little baby punk with a strong need for anger management therapy lol. It's no wonder little kids like him, since he makes their tantrums look like nothing. :)

My 4 year old adores Kylo Ren and really, really wants to meet him. He saw a youtube video of Kylo holding a little kids hand, so he's hoping for that, but I warned him that might not be the case. I hope he's not too scared by him, because he absolutely loves him.

Does anyone know if Darth Vader is still there? That's another favorite of his, but I feel like I heard he's not there right now. We are hoping to do the jedi training and possibly fight him.
At the moment it's only Chewbacca, Kylo Ren and BB-8

I asked a CM in the Launch Bay gift shop about Vader. She told me he's inside the Disney Visa meet and greet. Well, a few days later, my son decides he needs to meet him. We realize it was coming close to the end of the meeting hours, so we run there. Only to discover it was Kylo Ren!!

Maybe Vader pops in there occasionally? I don't know? But i wish I knew that it was Kylo in the Visa Card Line before I waited in his long line!

I am sorry to hear that. It sounds like the exact opposite of what we experienced. I would also like to have Vader back. I enjoyed his meet and greet a lot also last year.

To the parents who bring their smaller children - do you tell them it's all fake, or do you let them think it's OK for an adult to act this way? I'd have difficulty with both scenarios. I'd want my young one (who would still believe characters are 'real' at age 4-5) to still believe, but I certainly would not want them to think it was OK for someone to act intimidating, or that I would let it happen. So what do you do? I'd probably not bring a young child in, but some of you have?

I personally believe that the characters should stay totally in character and each parent should decide what is best for their child. At 4-5 have they watched the Star Wars movies? do they know the characters? or is this something to save for later.

My DS is disabled and functions as a young child, I pick what we do based on what I think he will comprehend or be okay with. We didn't do SW Weekends for years until I was sure he would be okay with it. Now we did Halloween and Villains early because those are all movies he knew well. Same with attractions, some we just split up so he doesn't have to ride some even though he is big enough.

You don't have to do everything, even after decades we are able to find new things to do all the time because I don't feel the need to do it all.

He was awesome for us. We stood there look very intimidated for the picture and as we walked away I yelled "Long live the Resistance!!!!" And he spun around at us and threw out his hand like he was gonna force-choke us as we bolted out the door.

I just added our Meet and Greet with Darth Vader from last year for comparison to the first post.

My DH and I must have been the only people on the planet who did not know who Kylo Ren was. We walked into the meet and greet and starting laughing cause we were so clueless. We expected one of the "old" star war people.

I would have loved to have been fly on the wall for that one!

That could have made for a great interaction -- I would think Kylo Ren would be really annoyed about not being recognized.

When we first started going to WDW it was common to have the villains out and about in the parks for character meets. Jafar, Cruella, Queen of Hearts and others weren't just out for the Halloween party. They definitely stayed in character and it was a lot of fun. If my DS had been at all apprehensive about them we would have skipped the line.

I don't think I've ever thought of the characters as being "adult", but just as characters so they are behaving as they do in the movie/world/universe they come from.

That is a tough call. It really depends on the child. We really just hammer home that it is "Disney" and bad things don't happen in Disney or people wouldn't want to go. Sometimes bad guys can be fun when they are being watched by Mickey. :)

Do they always let you video? We tried with Vader in DL and he wouldn't let us. He pointed at the phone and then the ground. Then he didn't move till my wife turned it off.

I think SW characters are different because they are not animated. If the person, be it a child or adult, has watched the movie they know what they have done, Kylo's story so far is pretty bloody, what can be more horrific than killing your own parent.
During SWW they had some pretty intense characters out, Darth Maul, Aura Sing, I loved the fact that they would NOT break character even if a child was crying in front of them or people were screaming and running the other way, that's who they are and that's what made the meet great.
If you think someone, anyone, will not enjoy the encounter by all means don't meet them

Does anyone know if there is any difference at in between the regular standby line, and the Visa meet and greet for Kylo Ren? Like, do you get an extra minuite or so, or better interaction? Trying to figure out which line would be the best to get into!
